We’re looking forward to introducing you to Abby Hunt. Check out our conversation below.
Abby, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
Lately I’ve been waking up and getting straight to my morning walks, which I love! It’s so hot in Nashville in the summer that I’ve just been going down to my treadmill in my gym and I’ll knock out some emails or admin work while I go. Then I usually come back up to my apartment, make a coffee, and start my workday – since I work from home It’s so easy because I don’t have to commute.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Abby, and I’m a 26-year-old lifestyle, content, creator, living in Nashville with my boyfriend, and our two spoiled cats! I do have a corporate job but for my 9 to 5 I also work in influencer marketing so I feel like that blends a lot with my creative side. It’s always a plus when your side hustle benefits, your regular job and vice versa. I’ve been making content for a few years now, and I’ve had the amazing privilege to work with so many brands, both local businesses in Nashville, and also some really big fashion brands that have been such a dream.
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who taught you the most about work?
Definitely my dad. He’s retired now, but my entire life. He was a real estate agent so he had to work for himself. He really showed me the value of hard work and what it looks like to be self motivated, make your own schedule, and make things happen for yourself. He’s one of the most hard-working people I’ve ever met and he inspires me a lot to this day.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
There have definitely been times where my views or engagement was consistently low across my social media channels and I felt like “what’s the point?” But truly, having a support system and a community of other creators in this space definitely helps me push through those low moments. You have to remember to enjoy the journey, and not just focus on getting to a destination. I’m definitely still working on this.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Whom do you admire for their character, not their power?
I admire my boyfriend very much for his character. He is the definition of a man of his word and he has more integrity than anyone I’ve ever met, especially in our generation. He inspires me to be a better person and show up for those around me, the best way that I can. He has so many dreams and aspirations that he has yet to accomplish, but I am so proud of the man he is and I know that he will do everything. He sets his mind to.
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I really just hope people remember the way I made them feel. I want people to feel special and important when they are interacting with me, and that they can be themselves I think my superpower is connecting really quickly and easily with strangers, and truly viewing the world as a positive place rather than a negative or scary one. I look at strangers as friends I haven’t met yet. But in the end, I don’t believe people will remember my accomplishments, though I’m sure there will be many. I want them to remember that I made them feel sparkly.
