Story & Lesson Highlights with Justice Ami

We recently had the chance to connect with Justice Ami and have shared our conversation below.

Justice, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: What makes you lose track of time—and find yourself again?
Playing guitar. It centers me and brings me back to earth when I feel disconnected. I find that when I feel overwhelmed and out of body, I probably haven’t picked it up in a while.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hello! My name is Justice Ami. I’m a Singer-Songwriter, Model, and Creative from California. I’ve been living in Nashville for 4 years. The longer I live in Nashville, the more I feel like a Jill of all trades and not just a musician. Sure, the music inspires me and keeps me going. Just like many of us here, I have an E.P. on the back burner as I work a retail 9-to-5 to fund it. Of all things, music would lead me to finding a more flexible job in retail, and retail would later lead me to Modeling. Modeling has been such an unexpected surprise in my life. It seems like it came out of nowhere and was somehow meant to be all along. Now I get to work in fashion and create music out of overflow.

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
A world shaker, happy, giddy, and optimistic.

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering. Boy! What a word?! Suffering has taught me to let Joy linger. Suffering has taught me to slow down. Success fills you up for moments, possibly days. While suffering lasts for days, usually years. It has shown me how to be more present in the mundane.

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What do you believe is true but cannot prove?
God is real.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: If you laid down your name, role, and possessions—what would remain?
My faith, good people, great friends, an incredible family, and hopefully some songs a few will remember.
