Marisol LICONA shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Hi Marisol, thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
Begin with a quiet ritual: a cup of coffee to center myself, time to reflect, and a few moments to plan the flow of my day before I step into the studio.”
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Marisol Licona, and I am the founder of SOL LUNA, a contemporary jewelry that blends craftsmanship with artistic expression, I started making jewelry 10 years ago as an exploration of materials and creativity has become my passion.
Each piece is handmade and shaped through a balance of traditional techniques from sketch to soldering, shaping metal to polishing the final piece, every step is done with care and precision.
A significant part of my journey has been moving my shop from Honduras to the United States. This transition has not only challenged me to rebuild and adapt but has also enriched my creative vision, opening new opportunities to connect with diverse audiences and communities.
“My brand is centered on the idea of jewelry as wearable art. At the moment, I am working on new designs that continue to explore this connection between art and daily life.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
I was a woman and a mother of two children, learning to balance care and responsibility, that part of me is still here and creating has always been part of me, but raising my children reminded me of the importance of staying true to who I am.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I Would like to say
Ignore the noise.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes. I am simple and genuine, whether I am creating jewelry in my studio or sharing my personal story with others.”
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. What will you regret not doing?
Not living a life true to my Self,
