We recently had the chance to connect with Mikey Black and have shared our conversation below.
Good morning Mikey, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What is a normal day like for you right now?
A normal day for me is working taking time out for my work outside of my work that I do during the day and spending time with my family
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Mikey Black. I am a artist held out of Nashville, Tennessee, but I’m born and raised out of Kalamazoo, Michigan I’ve been in Nashville, Tennessee for about 10 years now and I’ve rebranded my whole style of making music clothing and etc.. We now go by Maniac Collection’s we’re not just a record company. We are a whole brand. We have clothes, Music and entertainment. We are our family own company that’s ran by family.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
When I knew it was time to do for myself, and that was at a early age
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
Don’t change nothing don’t move different just be smarter
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes, it’s the real me. Everything is real about me. I don’t know how to be fake so if the public version of me is the same me business wise and that’s how it would be.
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. What do you understand deeply that most people don’t?
I understand morals, I understand being valued important and being a leader I understand, loyalty, respect, and privacy. A lot of people don’t understand these things a lot of people think that things that you do won’t come back upon you like karma some people have bad karma, and some people have good karma. It all depends.
