Megan Feveryear shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Megan, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
The first 90 minutes of my day looks like waking up, spending around 30-45 minutes in my 2 year devotional reading a passage of scripture from the Old Testament, a Psalm, and a Passage from the New Testament. Then a journal a prayer in the morning. After beginning my day with that, I do the normal and typical, make my bed, and get ready for my day. Once I’m ready I make my go-to morning ice coffee, go to breakfast of a bagel or avocado toast. Then head to check emails or create social posts for the rest of my 90 minutes.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Megan Feveryear born and raised in Lancaster, PA. Now residing in Nashville, TN. After working and seeing the intricacies of the music industry, I stepped out in faith and founded Long Run Media and Management. A company based in Nashville to take the management burden off the artist, handle social media, content create/ photography, and pick up event slack from various events across the country.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
As a child, I had a teacher tell me at one point. “you’re not the best, but you’re just average.” This statement in the moment wrecked me, not that I had to be the best or even good. But just to have an affirmative statement told to me in the moment would have redircted the course of various motivated mindset actions. As I grew older I realized this individual was probably dealing with a lot of hurts himself and truthfully, I believe within my spirit that we are each given a gift.
Do you remember a time someone truly listened to you?
A time when someone truly listened was my Youth Pastor Darin Parry. Various times in my life he has been the person I can always go to for advice and simply find that advice is not only given, laughs are shared, and common ground is always found. Darin listens and shares his heart in a way that get’s down to each person’s level .
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
The biggest lies the indsutry will tell you is how to compare yourself to this artist or that artist. If you work behind the scenes often times you will hear if you do this or look like this version then you can advance faster. More often than not comparison will always come and get you.
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. Have you ever gotten what you wanted, and found it did not satisfy you?
This is such an important question. Yes, so often I achieve what would be an actual goal and have found that this goal did not satisfy me. As a go-getter personality type, I am always trying to achieve different aspects for my career. But as a person of Faith, I have realized early on that if I am not grounded in the person of Jesus that everything is meaningless, because life is truly a vapor. These really cool and exciting moments will fade, but the satisfaction I find in Christ will always remain.
