We recently had the chance to connect with Dawn Pfingsten and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Dawn, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
We have sheep and have had a couple of bottle babies (lambs who were rejected from their mama’s) here on our property and love when I pay attention to them. They make noise for me, want me to pet them and give them treats (graham crackers).
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Dawn, 57, military veteran, wife, mother, grandmother and sheep farmer. We live in Tennessee.
My YouTube Channel and social media channels are for mature women who want simple makeup tips and affordable makeup and skincare.
I want women over 40 and over 50 to feel fantastic in their skin, without spending a fortune.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who taught you the most about work?
My parents. My dad was a hard worker and always fixing things and making sure we had a safe place to live. My parents were entrepreneurs but not rich, just always busy and providing a decent life for our family.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
This job is not easy. It’s fun, it’s rewarding, and I love the connections, but it’s not easy. Technology is not my friend. It’s an integral part of my job and always changing. It can be difficult to keep up with the ever changing aspects of tech and social media.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Is the public version of you the real you?
100% at 57 I don’t have time or the desire to pretend that I’m anything other than what you see in real life.
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. When do you feel most at peace?
When I’m at home with my husband. My dream has always been to own an old farmhouse. We bought one in 2020 and it brings me so much joy to care for it, cook in it and see our sheep out in the yard.
