Life & Work with Logan Jarvis of Franklin

Today we’d like to introduce you to Logan Jarvis.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
So I grew up in Franklin, TN. I have always really loved music: songs that make me move and songs that move me. Those are the kind that I’m trying to write.

But really, I was always playing sports as a kid. Then, I found lyric writing at 9 years old. We wrote songs for a project at Hunters Bend Elementary before we took a trip to the Country Music Hall of Fame. On the field trip, my friend Eric and I had our song (among a few others) chosen by a writer to be put to a melody and sang. God really used that to encourage me and I never totally stopped writing lyrics after that. Always adding to a notebook or note in my phone.

I started singing in the choir in high school and playing some guitar. By the time I graduated from Belmont with a music business degree, I started writing every day and posting to my Instagram. This landed me a coffee with Missi Gallimore of Truth or Dare Music. She asked me to come on as an intern and she and the Truth or Dare family taught me the every day in’s/out’s of the modern music industry. I worked there for a year until co-writing and artistry really began to grow. I started pursuing them with a lot more of my time in January 2025 and have put out my first 3 singles this year!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not been smooth! I have made so many mistakes. For instance, Nashville is all about who you know. I have asked people for writes and meetings that I had no business asking. I have not asked people that I definitely should have. Nashville is a tricky place, and the music industry is a tricky business.

But I had coffee with E.T. Brown one time (probably a shot I had no business taking), and he told me that networking was all about not needing anything from the person. Just showing up, again and again, and becoming someone people could trust. It’s like fishing, you have to show up, throw the line in and wait! When someone asks you what you do, now you have a chance to talk about your job and your passions.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I write songs and sing. I say it like that because I write songs that I put out, and also that other artists put out. I think what sets me apart from others are a few things- my sound and style are not typical of what you see in country music right now, but they also aren’t that far off. I would say they are unique.

The other thing that sets me apart is my music is a ministry. It truly is a way for me to be able to love on people and tell them about Jesus about the freedom we can have in Jesus. We are all struggling with the same things, and we all need a Savior. I used to wonder if country music is the place for that, but now I’m convinced it is.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
You have to be honest, real, authentic. Country music listeners are pretty good at being able to tell when a song or person is inauthentic.
