Hi Brooke, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My story is probably a lot like many other small business owners! I was feeling a bit stuck and unfulfilled in my 9-to-5 job, and I knew there had to be a better way to use my marketing background.

I realized that many local businesses in my community were struggling with the same thing: they didn’t have the time or resources to handle their digital marketing. They were passionate about their work, but the world of digital marketing felt overwhelming and a little out of reach.

So, I decided to take a leap of faith and start my own freelance business. It was all about being that solution for them, the one who could take the overwhelming digital stuff off their plate. I’m truly passionate about helping local businesses grow, and nothing makes me happier than seeing their campaigns come to life and knowing I played a small part in their success!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road to where I am today has definitely not been smooth, but it has been worth it. When I first started my own business, I had to learn everything all at once. Suddenly, I wasn’t just a marketing specialist; I was also an accountant, a salesperson, a project manager, etc. The learning curve for running a business was incredibly steep, and there were many moments where I felt completely overwhelmed.

But I wouldn’t change it for anything. The struggles taught me so much about resilience and hard work. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing my clients happy!

My business, Social by Brooke, specializes in helping local small businesses thrive in the digital world.

What truly sets me apart is my approach. Every small business is unique, and I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all strategy. Instead, I take the time to get to know my clients, understand their goals, and create a customized plan that fits their specific needs and budget. My goal is to make marketing feel less like a chore and more like a fun, effective tool for growth.

I’m most proud of the genuine connections I’ve built with my clients and the community. My core mission is to help local businesses tell their authentic stories, build a loyal following, and make their online presence a strategic asset, not just a to-do list.

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
What’s a bit surprising is that I truly enjoy the behind the scenes work of digital marketing. While the creative side is fun, I secretly love diving into the analytics! Using data to inform my strategies is like solving a puzzle, and it’s incredibly rewarding to see that effort translate into real results for my clients.
