Today we’d like to introduce you to Mark Crader.
Hi Mark, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I began my journey into Financial and Career Coaching out of sheer determination to break free from the crushing weight of debt. At my lowest point, I was buried under **$323,501.21** in consumer debt — credit cards, car loans, student loans, and rental properties. After several hailstorms destroyed those properties and I had to rely on credit cards just to cover the deductibles, something inside me snapped.
On **November 16, 2016, at 9:34 a.m.**, I looked in the mirror, bowed my head, and prayed. For thirty seconds, I asked God for the strength, endurance, and courage to climb out of the hole I had dug. That moment changed everything.
For the next **63 months**, I fought with relentless focus—working multiple jobs, cutting expenses, paying over **$5,000 every single month** toward my debt. It was a grind. There were setbacks, exhaustion, and moments of doubt—but quitting was never an option. On **August 31, 2022**, I made my final payment. I was free.
That victory wasn’t just about the numbers—it was about transformation. I learned that perseverance reshapes your mindset, faith fuels endurance, and discipline builds freedom. I realized that if I could overcome this, others could too. Now, through coaching, I share that same grit, hope, and roadmap to help others fight their battles and rise above what once felt impossible. Because I’ve lived it—I know freedom is on the other side of perseverance.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Struggles Along the Journey
Sticking to the Plan: There were countless moments when I wanted to deviate—when the sacrifices felt too heavy and the progress too slow. Staying disciplined meant recommitting every single day, even when motivation faded and fatigue set in.
Saying “No”: I had to say no—over and over again. No to dinners out. No to quick weekend trips. No to things I wanted but didn’t need. Each “no” wasn’t just about saving money—it was about protecting my future.
Losing Friends: Some people didn’t understand. They disappeared when I stopped spending, when I started saying “I can’t right now.” I realized that not everyone who walks with you at the start will stay with you when the road gets narrow.
The Inner Battle: The hardest fight wasn’t external—it was internal. That little voice in my head kept whispering, “You’ve worked hard, you deserve this,” or “It’s just one time.” I had to confront that voice with truth, discipline, and a vision greater than my momentary desires.
Emotional Isolation: There were days when I felt completely alone—when progress felt invisible, and sacrifice seemed endless. But I learned that growth often happens in the quiet, unseen places where no one is cheering but you and God.
Fighting Discouragement: I battled doubt, frustration, and weariness. Yet every small victory, every bill paid off, reminded me that perseverance builds freedom—one choice, one day, one “no” at a time.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
For over three decades, I worked as an **I.T. Engineer**, driven by one core principle—**solve the problem, no excuses.** When systems failed overnight and hundreds of employees were walking in at 8:00 a.m. expecting everything to work, there was no backup plan—**I was the plan.** Those moments built resilience, precision, and an unwavering commitment to excellence. I became known for being **relentless in achieving my goals**—because you don’t just run *to* the finish line, you run *through* it, fists pumped in the air, celebrating victory earned through grit and perseverance. That same drive propelled me to become a **Technical Project Manager**, and later an **I.T. Executive**, where I led teams with determination, clarity, and passion—instilling in others that same spirit of ownership, excellence, and unstoppable commitment to the mission.
What sets me apart is a deeply held belief that no obstacle is too great when you meet it with passion, persistence, and purpose. I’ve always embraced challenges head-on, knowing that every problem carried within it a lesson, an opportunity, and a breakthrough waiting to happen. That mindset opened doors to an extraordinary career—working with professional sports teams, troubleshooting networks from a private yacht, even taking helicopter rides to test critical solutions, and supporting the Olympics remotely. Every experience was unique, every project demanded innovation and grit. My career was never ordinary—because every day brought a new problem to solve, a new system to build, and another chance to rise above what once seemed impossible.
Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
I was diagnosed with Kidney cancer in August 2025, and it is now that same grit and determination that I am using to fight cancer. On august 15, 2025, my right kidney was removed along with a slightly larger than softball sized tumor. Now, faced for the first time with my own mortality, I am helping to bring awareness that Cancer doesn’t just touch the person who has the disease, it touches everyone. What I know is that whether it is debt or cancer, neither one gets a seat at my table.
Psalm 23:5, which says, “You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies”. This verse describes God setting a table and providing for you even amidst your enemies, symbolizing His presence and provision during times of conflict, stress, or difficulty. I choose to ride into every fight with God and his son Jesus Christ riding along side me until he calls me home.
