Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Sheree Greider of Murfreesboro

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Sheree Greider. Check out our conversation below.

Hi Sheree, thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: Are you walking a path—or wandering?
Our family mantra is “Just keep walking”… in other words, don’t give up just keep walking, slowly but surely through each day. Sometimes life is incredibly hard and to simply stay engaged and slowly inching forward or baby stepping forward is the best that one can do.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Sheree Greider and I’m a painter. I think of my work as a mix of expressionism, post Impressionism and contemporary. Vibrant, hot color and loads of movement are my signature elements.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
Different world views, misunderstandings, and lack of tolerance have caused major relational problems in recent years. Families and friends have found themselves on opposite sides with each side feeling very strongly that their opinion is the correct one. Bridging these differences is challenging. Perhaps the bonds may be restored if those involved are willing to sit down and have honest communication.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I would say be true to your dreams and keep working toward them. Don’t be too hard on yourself but be willing to work hard and learn. Be flexible but stay true to your convictions.

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What’s a cultural value you protect at all costs?
I believe all people matter and are important and should be afforded safe housing, healthcare, quality education, and healthy food. These are basic needs and providing them for all citizens should be the responsibility of our government and each of us as individuals.

Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope I’m remembered as a person who loved well and enjoyed life!
