Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Jennifer Harvard

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Jennifer Harvard. Check out our conversation below.

Jennifer, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What is a normal day like for you right now?
Get up. Make coffee. Cozy up with coffee in bed and consider what I’m grateful for.
Make my list of things to get done.
Zoom meeting about Retreat in Egypt. Put away materials from my last event. Work on my next retreat. Email my assistant about my newsletter, etc. make a healthy lunch. Continue decorating my new studio. Continue working on my events. Go for a walk. Make dinner. Read or watch a movie and go to sleep.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
This month marks my 10th year as the entity that is Gaia Sisterhood.
Gaia Sisterhood honors the Divine in every woman through Goddess Craft Markets, international and local Retreats and Events primarily focused around the Celtic Eheel of the Year.
Right now I’m working on opening my new back yard studio to host even more workshops and events.

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
When I was 17 I had a near death experience. I totaled my car and broke my pelvic in three places and my sacrum in half, plus a severe concussion, many stitches and a few minor breaks in my wrists.
I had to grow up quickly. While my friends were worried about boys and the next party I was recovering. It really put things into perspective

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering has taught me that to some extent it’s a choice. There’s always pain. Bad things are going to happen, but good things happen too. The pendulum always swings back. I can stay in the pain or choose to work with it and move through it.

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes and no..
I am authentic in my work. I am sometimes silly and funny but there’s a more serious side to me.
People don’t necessarily see the side that is a bit melancholy at times either.

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
Worrying about the future!
