We recently had the chance to connect with Elizabeta Vidovic and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Elizabeta, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: What is a normal day like for you right now?
Upon rising, I pray and read the Bible to ask for guidance for my upcoming day. I walk the dogs, workout, eat breakfast, shower and scan the to-do list.
My first private – either a career coaching or audition coaching session for actors – is usually at 11:00. The rest of the day is governed by the number of privates I have.
I eat lunch between 1:00 and 2:00, and then take a break on my porch over a cup of coffee with my husband. It’s the highlight of my day!
Any work related to my production company, Almost Normal Productions, is done in between privates and generally between 5:00 and 8:00 in the evening. We are currently in development on our latest feature film, After Winter, so there is more work than usual.
I try never to miss the sunsets on my porch at 7:00, accompanied by another coffee or glass of wine with my husband. I do a final check in at 8:00 to see if there is anything left to finish. Around 9:00, I close my day with a prayer before slipping into pajamas and either catching up on reading, my latest TV obsession, or a movie that I’ve been wanting to see.
The life of an artist and an entrepreneur is always evolving and changing. It’s precisely why I love what I do – it’s never the same. This is generally what my days look like, but they change too. In addition to being an acting coach and a filmmaker, I’m an actress myself and I get auditions from time to time. I also have a small farm with 12 chickens, two dogs and a cat, plus a full garden with a house that sits on 4 acres of land… and I cook at least one big meal for my family every day! Though some days more and some less, all these things need my attention!
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I am an acting coach and filmmaker who moved to Nashville from Los Angeles, with three decades of experience in the entertainment industry.
My clients have worked on major studio and network projects, including CW, NBC, Freeform, Disney+, Warner Bros, and Lionsgate, to name a few!
My unique set of skills were shaped by my extensive background in acting, producing, writing, directing and running a production company where I’ve produced and developed over a dozen projects. This has given me inside information into the ins and outs of the film industry that I love passing onto my students. I help my students draw inspiration from their own unique personality and life experiences. This way, they can leave a lasting impression with industry professionals, improve their booking ratio and have a long and satisfying career.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
That I am not good enough.
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering taught me the power of love.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
I hope they would say… God, Family, Integrity.
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. What do you understand deeply that most people don’t?
What others think or say about us is none of our business.
Comparing ourselves to others is a waste of time and energy.
