Today we’d like to introduce you to Ki’ara Larkin.
Hi Ki’ara, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hello wellness besties! I’m Ki’ara, born and raised in Clarksville, Tennessee! I’m a proud mom, an adventure seeker, and a woman with an unshakable zest for life. For the past seven years, I’ve worked in healthcare across multiple specialties, and during that time, I witnessed just how broken our healthcare system has become. I believed I understood what it meant to heal. And yet, day after day, I watched patients silently struggle with being overwhelmed by stress, emotional pain, and mountains of medications they didn’t fully understand, some of which even contradicted one another. The system was shattered, and no amount of prescriptions could fix the deeper wounds. We weren’t helping people heal; we were just helping them cope.
I saw it in my patients and eventually, I saw it in myself. I was constantly giving, pouring from an empty cup, and pushing through exhaustion until I finally hit my own breaking point. That moment forced me to confront the truth: real healing goes far beyond medicine. I began a journey to reclaim my own balance and purpose, studying holistic wellness, mindset mastery, and lifestyle challenges.
I knew deep down I had to do more, because helping people truly heal has always been my calling. Today, as a Nurse Coach and founder of Empowered Wellness, I empower others to do the same. I help people reconnect with their bodies, realign their minds, and rebuild lives that feel vibrant, fulfilled, and authentic. My mission is simple: to help people become their happiest, healthiest, most authentic selves. True health is about nurturing the body, honoring the mind, and listening to the soul. By guiding others to find balance before burnout, I show that transformation is possible for anyone willing to step into their power. Through my coaching, speaking, and writing, I teach that wellness isn’t just a trend, it’s a love language to yourself. I combine science with soul to guide others toward healing that lasts, inside and out.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Not at all! The road has been anything but smooth, but it’s been purposeful. I’ve faced burnout, self-doubt, and seasons where I completely lost myself trying to pour from an empty cup. Working in a toxic environment for years took a huge toll on my mental health and spirit. I reached a point where I had to choose between staying in survival mode or rebuilding myself from the inside out.
That process wasn’t pretty. It meant unlearning old habits, setting boundaries, and learning how to rest, not quit. I had to heal emotionally, mentally, and spiritually before I could truly help others do the same. But that’s what shaped my mission. Those hard seasons became the foundation for the work I do now, empowering others to find balance, peace, and purpose no matter what life throws at them.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a nurse and holistic wellness coach, and my mission is to help people reclaim balance with their mind, body, and soul. I specialize in lifestyle modifications, stress management, mindset transformation, and emotional healing. My work blends evidence-based nursing knowledge with holistic, whole-person wellness. My clients don’t just look better or feel better temporarily, they actually heal and transform from the inside out.
I’m known for helping clients find clarity, confidence, and calm in the middle of chaos. Whether it’s through physical health consultations, mindset reset sessions, or one-on-one coaching, I help people reconnect with themselves and build a healthier relationship with their bodies and minds.
What I’m most proud of is seeing people who once felt stuck, burnt out, or broken finally start to thrive again, not because someone “fixed” them, but because they learned how to show up for themselves differently. That’s what lights me up.
What sets me apart is my ability to combine science and soul. I bring both the clinical background of a nurse and the empathy of someone who’s walked through her own healing journey. My approach is deeply personal, heart-centered, and results-driven. I don’t just focus on symptoms, I focus on the story behind them, and that’s where true transformation begins.
Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
Absolutely. My biggest advice is to lead with authenticity and alignment. Don’t just look for mentors or connections who are “successful” on paper. Look for people whose energy, values, and purpose align with yours. The right mentor will not only guide you but also challenge you to grow in ways that feel both uncomfortable and empowering.
When it comes to networking, I’ve learned that genuine connections always beat forced ones. Some of my best opportunities have come from simply showing up as myself, sharing my story, being open about my journey, and letting people see the real me. When you operate from a place of honesty and heart, you attract the right people into your space.
What’s worked best for me is staying curious, humble, and willing to both learn and pour into others. Mentorship and networking aren’t a one way street. They’re relationships! When you focus on connection instead of competition, you’ll find yourself surrounded by people who not only inspire you but also cheer you on every step of the way.
