Conversations with Pull-Tight Players

Today we’d like to introduce you to Pull-Tight Players.

Hi Pull-Tight Players, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My understanding is the story would be about the theatre group, Pull-Tight Players. If you are looking to focus on an individual, please let me know, and I will work with you to find out who in our group would best be the focus.

Our theatre group started in 1968, the brainchild of a Battle Ground Academy high school student. We occupied many spaces around downtown Franklin over the years before settling in our present location, which has a rich history, in 1985. You can read about our history here:

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
There were times when the theatre almost went under due to financial struggles. We have had to adapt to the many changes in the world, including economic ups and downs, COVID, advances in technology, etc., as well as a changing volunteer base.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
We provide six mainstage shows a year of community theatre, both for our audiences, and for the development and fun of our volunteers.

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
Our ability to continue to attract creative people who are willing to volunteer their time and talents, even when those talents include expertise they are normally paid for.
