Check Out Hailee Taylor’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Hailee Taylor.

Hi Hailee, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started my musical journey when I was in first grade. I starred as a bumblebee in my first musical, Winnie the Pooh Jr., and my love for music and performing blossomed. I took one piano lesson in third grade but quit because “the notes hurt my eyes,” so I ended up teaching myself all the instruments I know. That’s when my family and I discovered my perfect pitch. In high school, I started to write my own music. My family also enrolled me in vocal lessons to hone in on my natural talents. I viewed singing and songwriting as a form of therapy, which helped me get through some major family and life events that occurred during that season of my life. When I got to college, I had no idea what I wanted to do, I just knew I loved music. It wasn’t until after a bad breakup that I discovered that I loved to record and release my music. Now, I am currently going to school for audio production in order to illustrate and compose the music that I hear in my head, and to further assist and push my music career as a singer.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road has definitely been bumpy. I have dealt with numerous family events that had taken a toll on me and my music. By the time I was in high school, I had witnessed multiple divorces from my family. Trying to navigate divorces, suffering from depression, and my junior and senior year of high school was not an easy task for a high schooler. In college, I navigated transferring from my state university to a community college because I was incredibly depressed. I had also given up music multiple times for the boys I dated (ridiculous, I know). However, I do believe all of these events shaped me into who I am. I found God and peace through it all, and I firmly believe that he redirected me towards His path for my life.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a 19 year old singer/songwriter who was born and raised in Nashville, TN. I specialize in pop and country genres of music, but what sets me apart from others is my ability to sing multiple genres. I am also known for having a crazy high belting range. I love to incorporate many genres into the music I create. I believe that there should be no boundaries when it comes to the creation of music.

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
The impact I leave on others matters to me most. Most importantly, I want to spread the love of God. We live in a society that is so hateful, and so I strive to be loving towards all strangers because you never know what someone could be going through. I want my music to be an outlet for those who feel lost or alone, ensuring the listener that I’ve been there and I feel for them. If I can make some aspect of someone’s life better or direct them to the love of God, I’ve fulfilled my purpose in life.
