Hi Heather, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Heather Holmes is the Founder and CEO of Publicity For Good, a public relations agency specializing in purpose-driven consumer brands.
With over a decade of experience in PR, media, and communications, she has led campaigns for more than 200 brands across the food, wellness, lifestyle, and CPG space. Heather is known for combining data-driven strategy with meaningful storytelling, helping clients achieve consistent media coverage and category leadership. Her agency focuses on generating organic attention through competitor analysis, narrative clarity, and a mission-first mindset—elevating brands that are not only built to grow, but built to matter.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road. In the early days, one of the biggest challenges was figuring out how to build everything from scratch with limited resources and little guidance. I had to learn quickly about funding, operations, and how to create visibility in a very competitive space.

Another struggle was learning how to adapt. What I thought people wanted wasn’t always what they were looking for, so I had to listen closely, adjust, and sometimes start over. Those moments were tough but also made the business stronger.

On a personal level, balancing the demands of entrepreneurship with taking care of myself was difficult. There were times I worked around the clock and felt the weight of doubt and setbacks. But those challenges pushed me to grow, build resilience, and find creative solutions that ultimately shaped who I am and how I lead today.

Whether she’s mapping out a PR strategy or planning her next family adventure, she thrives on creativity, purpose, and connection.

Heather’s Dislikes:
She’s not a fan of having an empty schedule, inauthentic storytelling, or brands that talk louder than they listen. She also dislikes wasted potential (in business or people) and believes that every day should have a little progress and a lot of heart.
