Today we’d like to introduce you to Telani Lasoleille.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
In 2001, I adopted a puppy from a backyard breeder. I didn’t know anything about dogs at the time. Fortunately, a classmate of mine recommended a trainer for me to go to. The trainer ended up changing my life forever. She instilled in me a lifelong love for dog training. With her guidance I was later able to become a Certified Professional Dog Trainer and Behavior Consultant. Much of my approach to dog training is influenced by her.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been a smooth road. I’ve had to overcome mental health problems, illness, and an ex-business partner who set me back considerably.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I do dog training/behavior coaching and pet sitting. I’m known for my work with fearful and reactive dogs, helping them feel safe and coaching their guardians in how to best help their dogs. I’m most proud of the little business I built comprising three amazing employees who have embraced our welfare-based approach to working with dogs. While we do offer to teach basic manners skills, our main emphasis is making sure the dog’s wellbeing is the top priority.
How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
Referring us to friends is the best way people can support us.
