Today we’d like to introduce you to Grace Hall.
Hi Grace, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’m a multidisciplinary artist in Nashville TN, who studied at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. I experiment with concepts and aesthetic optics. I’m a professional painter for a living, as the art director of a hospitality group that owns 4 restaurants in Nashville. Restaurants such as, Treehouse, The Row, Nash House and one that’s opening in Franklin. On the side, I front a band called Pressure Heaven. I met my co collaborator (Collin) at my old job at Five Points Pizza. I needed a new art practice to work with, so we started making music together and now have a three piece band. My bandmates are Collin Thompson and Lucas Bowers.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
A mentor once told me, “if life was a flat line, you’d be dead.” Think of life like a heart beat. It goes up and down. The first thing I learned in art school was that failure is crucial. Life and art would not be interesting without the roadblocks that get in our way.

I paint murals for a hospitality group that owns a couple restaraunts in Nashville. You can check out my work at Treehouse in Five Points East. I also have some paintings at The Row in West End. Recently I’ve been working on a new restaurant in Franklin, that will be open in a couple months.
I’m hoping to get more freelance mural opportunities that are outside my job. I’m also hoping that Pressure Heaven grows to a level of success that I can’t even imagine. My overall main goal in a perfect dream career is art directing other artist projects or my own. Curating the universe of Pressure Heaven with my bandmates has been super stimulating to my artistic integrity and drive.
How do you define success?
I see myself as a success now, but I always dream about how it could be even better. To live in comfort and happiness is success. To be doing all the things I once dreamed of doing is success. To be supported in love and wisdom is success. To be breathing and making art is success.
