Daily Inspiration: Meet David Anthony

Today we’d like to introduce you to David Anthony.

Hi David , so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My Love for fashion started as a young man growing up in the city of Brooklyn NY and becoming a fashion sponge from my surroundings in Freeport Long Island and New York City and it’s various boroughs. I grew up in the city where fashion was paramount to ones identity. Out of High school I started working in fashion retail jobs, and modeling for John Casablanca, I was blessed with the opportunity and started dancing for a Show on MTV and performing in fashion routines styled by Montgomery Frazier who opened up my eyes to a diverse world of fashion. Once bitten by the fashion bug, I started doing wardrobe closet organizing and personal shopping for corporate business associates, and friends. Then I started working for a company called Hal Prince Music and Entertainment where I became the Director of Entertainment, and head MC (host). I also started personal shopping and Styling clients as well. In 2010 I moved form NYC to Atlanta and started my own Concierge/Personal Shopping and styling business called Nuvizions INTL. I began producing Two fashion shows with a business partner (called the F.A.B Event Fashion Against Bullying) i joined an amazing Team as Event manager for Melin Michelle Planning Management and Design Group. In 2018, I rebranded my company- now known as David Anthony Image Consultantant-Eight years later after working in retail sales/merchandising for Armani Exchange and Steinmart, also doing production assisting, costuming and wardrobe assisting on TV shows and Movies, Apperaing on Several TV shows as the Resident, Star and Dynasty, Movies sucha as What Men Want, as a featured background and stand in.I now offer an array of services that can meet all your fashion needs, including traveling to different states and cities to style and personal shop for clients, also offering social media branding.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The road hasn’t been easy at all, I’ve had to take on free work and work for less than my normal fee in order to get my foot in the door. certain sacrifices were made on behalf of myself and my support system. there were days, nights, and months where personal bills weren’t paid and food wasn’t obtainable in order to sow into the business. Recently in July of 2022 I had a car accident that led to complications in my walking and usage of my motor skills. September of that same year I suffered strokes, seizures, and contracted covid pneumonia that led to a coma because of Brain Bleeds. After waking up I was moved to a rehab facility where I RE-learned how to walk, talk, write and speak all over again. In March of 20224 I moved out on my own and began working in retail again as a sales floor supervisor for Burlington. I was once again bitten by the fashion bug. Thus began the journey back to my passion as an Image Consultant. While in recovery I studied and became proficient in creating content and social media branding learning all the new and trending ways and apps to create and market my brand and clients brands. In 20224 I was featured in several online publications and the first and second installment of Queen Magazine. I took on a brand new client Robert Earl Long (The REL Corp) to help usher in the next generation of creatives.
