We’re looking forward to introducing you to Cale Maloney. Check out our conversation below.
Cale, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: Have you stood up for someone when it cost you something?
Oh, 100%. I have stood up for so many people, specifically against favoritism. I’ve gotten leaders/people fired and removed because I’ve gone to battle for others. I don’t play around with that.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi!
My name is Cale Maloney, and honestly at this point, you can call me a creative/content creator. I have a wedding & concert photography business, I am a content creator for a church (photos, videos, social media, graphics, merchandise, email blasts, and more), and I am now officially an author of a poetry/short story book!
I am someone who, when sitting still, knows they could be creating something. I adore creating things. It’s what keeps me going daily, especially if it’s with others. I have a love for watching things come to fruition, whether inspired by good times, or painful, bad times. Art can come from anywhere.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
I LOVE tough and deep questions like this.
What breaks bonds?
Mistrust, and lack of importance. Humans want to be seen, heard, and want to find a soft place to land with their trust.
What restores them?
Jesus. Only Jesus can restore broken bonds. Humans are humans, and they will fail, every time.
Each restoration is a new chapter, so you never fully restore it, because both of you are a new person at the end of it.
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
No one will support you the way you can. Even your closest friends can’t be your cheerleader late at night when you’re alone… only you can.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What truths are so foundational in your life that you rarely articulate them?
God loves you.
A person’s a person, no matter how small (in and outside of the womb).
Grief can be a good thing.
Anything can be fixed with a little Taylor Swift jam session and Dr. Pepper.
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What are you doing today that won’t pay off for 7–10 years?
I’m working hard to be the dad I didn’t have.
While I don’t want children at this exact moment (I haven’t even dated anyone yet, slow your roll), I’m constantly, daily, learning how to do things right, and well, and better. Fatherhood is a MAJOR, important role to fulfill, it’s not a joke. I hope and pray I do it right, and well.
