Meet Tiffany Sweeley of Beautifully Broken Counseling

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiffany Sweeley.

Hi Tiffany, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Well, it started when my husband and I were having marital problems. After years of treating each other poorly we filed for divorce. As a Christian it just didn’t feel right. I knew that God designed marriage and he hated divorce. So I began to pray. And I prayed. After being separated for 6 months, a breakthrough. My husband called and asked me out on a date. Slowly we began to talk openly and with Gods help, rebuilt our marriage. We had to forgive each other of some pretty awful things. It was a true resurrection because it was dead! I then felt led to attend ministry school here in TN and finished as a licensed minister in 3 years. But I had no idea what I was gonna do with it. I had been asked to speak at different churches but there’s a huge bias against women in ministry. So I asked God how can I help people? I know you’ve led me this far what now?
So I decided maybe I can help people save their marriages. I then entered counseling school. It felt right! I could now share my experiences with people going thru the same thing. I could minister to the hurting one on one. This 10 year journey of pain and reconciliation was for this time and these people. I am finishing my PhD in counseling now to have as much knowledge as possible for my clients that I know God is sending to hear my story. God also led me to write a book “Prepare for Battle” which is my testimony and encouragement for people going thru battles.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The hardest thing was telling my children we were getting a divorce. The next biggest struggle I had was not really knowing the next step. Rebuilding a marriage and putting a family back together is a huge task. I was feeling lost in my purpose. So I guess that is the true definition of faith, trusting what you can’t see but just following anyway.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
We are a group of pastoral counselors in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and we offer a full range of counseling services. I specialize in marital counseling, pre-marital counseling, divorce, counseling, trauma, grief, and family counseling. We have a staff of counselors that can council on a full range of issues. We combine the truth of the Bible with Psychology and methods to help each individual.

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
I would say what I like best are the people. We have a great variety of people from all over who are kind and friendly. What I like least is the traffic and how all of these interstates just converge in one place.
