Rising Stars: Meet Jake C. Young of Nashville

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jake C. Young.

Hi Jake C. , thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
As Far back as I can remember, I always had a big imagination. An imagination that was too big for all places that I was in. I’m fell in love with the idea of pretending in creating stories and craft when I was 13 I began to make I referred to as “backyard movies” from then on I dabbled an acting and filmmaking. My family moved around a lot as a kid and we lived various places so I got to see a lot of different culture that help sheet my ideas of making art. As I got a little older, I journeyed out to places such as Los Angeles, New York, and a few other places to pursue my dream, however, I found quickly that it was not all it was cracked up to be, and it was a very competitive industry. I returned to my hometown with an idea in mind to create films on my own to make independent features. I launched my first independent student film in college in 2016.This led to me establishing my own independent film company, MTS pictures. I came from some rather humble beginnings, but learned a lot about filmmaking and how to create my craft. I have since directed by feature films and starred in most of them as well. I’ve been incredibly lucky to have my films featured on news outlets into currently be streaming on services like Tubi, Amazon prime, and several other major streaming platforms. I most recently finished the film and I’m very excited about to see brought to life. I’m currently a resident in Kentucky and I work based in the Nashville area on various projects quite frequently. Nashville is a great city and a great land of opportunity for people that wish to be involved in television, movies, or any form of media production.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I don’t think any actor or filmmaker will ever tell you It’s been a smooth road. If they are, they’re probably doing something wrong, there have been a lot of struggles, I faced a lot of adversity, including trying to find work at times. But one thing about it… If it was easy, everyone would be doing it, and I think every person, including myself want to leave some part of their self or their mark on the world..

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m an actor, director and a filmmaker. I’m known for independent horror features such as Souls Chapel, The Dark Room, A Night of the Undead and Daylight To Dark.

Most people know me because I’m a distant relative of the great actor and director Clint Eastwood. We are distant cousins and our similarities in looks don’t lie, but I can’t say that that’s ever helped me make my way into a professional career, it’s been a lot of hard work and a lot of creating new projects and crafting my skills

I most proud of being able to say that I created films and have been able to work with celebrities and have them in a project that I made. It’s a great feeling whenever you don’t just get to work on someone else’s projects, but when they are in your project. I like to think what sets me apart for most others is that I don’t quit and I have a very real outlook on the world I’m used to those fast paced environments.

Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
I’d like readers to be able to find my work, you can type in my name on those major streaming platforms and see my films. Or they can follow me on social media
