Check Out Drew Harrison’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Drew Harrison.

Drew Harrison

Hi Drew, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Started comedy in Wilmington, NC.. stayed there for about 8 years then moved to Nashville for bigger opportunities and have been on the road with Dusty Slay, Derrick Stroupe and more. I’ve released two comedy specials since arriving in Nashville on YouTube.. the latest was released on my 40th birthday August 29th! I have a weekly YouTube show ‘Oh Hey Guys’, a wrestling podcast (Spandex StandUps) with fellow Nashville comedian Evan Berke and a Aunt & Uncle podcast with my wife (who is way funnier that me) called ‘The Bubbles and Hardbody Show’ and is available wherever you listen to your podcasts!

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No comedy is a lot of nos and dead ends and opportunities that don’t pan out along the way, you truly have to be in love with the game to pursue comedy. It is true what they say the road is lonely but there is no better feeling than being on stage and having the crowd in the palm of your hand and it really makes the struggle worth it.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I most proud of my comedy specials, I edited and produced them by myself. I also am a painter and have a lot of fun painting and creating mixed media artwork!

What does success mean to you?
By being happy. I use to think how famous you are or how much money you’ve brought in defines you, but the older I get success is how much you enjoy your own life. I see people that maybe have had more ‘success’ on paper and they’ve had to sacrifice things I’m not willing to sacrifice at that time to achieve.. so I think “making it” is being happy with your situation.
