Exploring Life & Business with Andréa Howard of New Boots Line Dancing

Today we’d like to introduce you to Andréa Howard.

Hi Andréa, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My journey with New Boots Line Dancing began in such an unexpected and meaningful way. Toward the end of my time as an NFL cheerleader in 2019, I was searching for a way to keep dancing—something fun, challenging, and creatively fulfilling that could also fit alongside my pursuits in acting and modeling. That’s when I met my now business partner, Jessica Grosch.

After going through the interview process, Jessica and Jimmy Chapin, our co-founders, brought me on as an instructor. From there, everything just clicked. The years flew by, and New Boots became more than just a studio—it became a place where I grew into a version of myself I never could’ve imagined at the time. It’s truly where I found my footing not only as a dancer and instructor, but as a future business owner.

I’ll never forget the day the three of us went out to lunch, and I could sense something was up. I thought they were preparing to tell me they were closing the business since both were relocating to different states. Instead, they surprised me with one of the greatest gifts of my life: the opportunity to become a co-owner of the brand. It was, without question, the best surprise of 2024.

Since then, we’ve been able to exponentially grow our presence in Nashville, and we’re thrilled to have recently expanded to New York City—bringing a little bit of that “Boot Scootin” energy to the Big Apple. I’m incredibly grateful for the trust they placed in me, and for the journey that led me exactly where I’m supposed to be.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
As smooth as running a business can be. New Boots has evolved into what it is today because we’ve stayed committed to growing in a way that supports both our clients and one another as partners. Our leadership team communicates openly, leans into honesty, and uses our individual strengths to keep the business moving forward. That foundation has allowed us to deliver a consistently fun, reliable experience in cities that love to line dance, supported by talented instructors who bring the energy every single time.

Because what we do is very niche, there’s always fine-tuning involved—whether it’s refining our uniforms, strengthening our team structure, or ensuring that each instructor is the right fit for our culture. Accommodating each client’s vision is the part that challenges us the most, but it’s also what keeps us motivated and intentional. Every group is different, and we enjoy matching that with a customized experience that feels personal and memorable.

Jessica and Jimmy believed in me to help grow New Boots and eventually expand it across the country. Their confidence in my leadership has been a key part of why we’re able to continue developing the brand in a way that feels aligned, exciting, and sustainable.

We’ve been impressed with New Boots Line Dancing, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Founded in 2016, New Boots Line Dancing is proud to be Nashville’s original private line dance studio—a title that reflects both our roots and our commitment to bringing authentic, unforgettable dance experiences to Music City. Over the years, we’ve had the joy of teaching thousands of guests the art of line dancing, helping first-timers and seasoned dancers alike loosen up, have fun, and make memories that last long after the music stops.

We’re best known for creating custom, high-energy dance experiences for bachelorette parties, birthdays, family gatherings, corporate events, and just about any celebration that calls for something unique. What really sets us apart is the way we tailor every session to our clients: you choose the vibe, you choose the music, and we bring the moves. Because our instructors are not only talented but genuinely upbeat and welcoming, we’re able to connect with each group personally, no matter their dancing level or musical taste.

One of our proudest accomplishments is building a brand that celebrates inclusivity, creativity, and pure joy. We’ve become a go-to Nashville experience because we don’t just teach line dancing—we create an atmosphere where guests feel confident, energized, and free to have fun. Whether it’s country, pop, hip-hop, or anything in between, we love showing people how line dancing can elevate any party and bring everyone together.

Being part of a city that thrives on music and is visited by people from across the world is a gift we don’t take lightly. Nashville embraces movement, rhythm, and celebration, and we’re honored to contribute to that spirit every day.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Spending time with Jesus and serving Him is at the center of my life—my faith is truly my foundation. Beyond that, I find a lot of joy in the kitchen. I’m a pescatarian, so being selective with food has made me pretty creative, and cooking has become one of my favorite outlets. My grandmother was the one who first brought me into the kitchen while teaching me her pound cake recipe, so baking has always been a way for me to show love.

I also love meeting new people and exploring new places. Experiencing unfamiliar environments, listening, and observing how others live and think is endlessly inspiring to me. You never know the role someone might eventually play in your life.

Some of my simple daily joys include spending time in local coffee shops, whether I’m working on my own projects, collaborating with friends or just enjoying the energy and conversations around me, listening to live jazz, spending time by the lake or beach, sipping my daily matcha latte, going on long walks, and chatting with my aunties. If you have an aunt, and she’s fabulous, soak up every bit of wisdom she offers.

All of these activities and relationships keep me grounded, grateful, and growing. I’ve come to realize that every day is an opportunity to learn something new and to meet someone special. Every moment spent in connection enriches my life. I’m grateful for the journey so far and excited for what lies ahead with New Boots and the wonderful connections we create along the way.
