We recently had the chance to connect with Elly Cooke and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Elly, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
I’ve really been enjoying taking walks with my dog and exploring nature!! I absolutely love being outdoors.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi, my name is Elly Cooke and I’m a singer, songwriter, musician and performer based in Pennsylvania. Ever since I was a kid I’ve had a passion for expressing myself through music. I grew up singing for family events, talent shows, open mics and church. As I gained experience performing I got jobs singing at local fairs, festivals, restaurants, bars, wineries… etc. I even had the opportunity to open for country artists such as Riley Green, Parker McCollum, Maren Morris and more. I’ve released an album and five singles including my version of the Christmas song “Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree” by Brenda Lee. I consider it a great blessing to have the opportunity share my music with the world around me. I hope that my music can be a light to those who hear it.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
My family is a huge reason that I chose to pursue a musical career. They have always listened to my songs and encouraged me. I’m so grateful to have such an incredible support system.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
If I could say something to my younger self I would say: “Just be yourself and freely create the songs from your heart. Don’t worry about what anyone thinks of you.”
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
Creativity and bringing glory to my Creator through music.
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. When do you feel most at peace?
I feel most peace when I’m outside in nature or when I’m creating something. I love songwriting but I also enjoy painting, drawing or any type of craft.
