Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Alayna Carroll

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Alayna Carroll. Check out our conversation below.

Good morning Alayna, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Outside of my work in the music industry, a couple things that are bringing me joy lately are my two cats, and decorating for the holidays! I’ve been decorating for Halloween, Thanksgiving/fall, and Christmas. Currently I have all my Christmas decorations up inside but still need to put up lights outside.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Alayna and I’m a country artist from Nashville, TN! My husband and I are both originally from Butler, PA. I played classical piano for many years and am basically self-taught on guitar. I write songs with great songwriters around Nashville. Recently I released a single called Fair Weather Friends and am going back into the studio soon to prepare my first single for 2026. I’m always working on creating content and planning out my next move!

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
My husband Adam is the most encouraging person I’ve ever had in my life. He’s always speaking positivity over me and believes in me 100%. He comes to nearly every performance and helps in any way he can. Because of his consistent positivity towards me, he’s helping me re-adjust my views of myself.

When you were sad or scared as a child, what helped?
Yes, I was definitely both sad, scared and a lot more. Angry, doubtful, lacking self-esteem. I was raised in an abusive household and it really effected my life in every way, even to this day. The thing that helped me the most was moving away from my home state to Nashville and never looking back. I had to put the past behind me to start to heal and get help that I needed. I still sometimes visit my home state, mostly just for sports games though 🙂

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
For quite a few years now, there’s been a narrative in country music where female artists are not as “needed” as male artists. That women don’t want to hear fellow females – they want to hear men who will sing love songs to them. There are only a few women on the country charts and to me, this is a serious problem. We’re not giving a big enough platform to incredibly talented women. I write empowering songs for women, and it’s normally very well received. I’d like to inspire other women and that’s one way I do it.

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. When do you feel most at peace?
I feel most at peace when I’m on vacation, on a beautiful warm and sunny beach. Relaxing in a beach chair with my toes in the sand, and the sound of the waves in front of me. I also LOVE a hot tub at a log cabin in the woods. It’s so soothing!
