Meet Jennifer Evoy of Lascassas, TN

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Evoy.

Hi Jennifer, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My name is Jennifer Evoy, and I am the designer and creator behind Anchored Hope Christian Clothing. I started this journey in February 2022, when my son was preparing to graduate from MTSU, and I was becoming an empty nester. I had no idea what I was going to do in this new season of my life. I began searching for ways to keep myself busy and started visiting craft fairs. As I would walk through them, I began to notice a notable absence of faith-based items being offered. That bothered me because in the world we live in today, we all need Jesus and to be encouraged and uplifted. I still remember the day I told my husband what I wanted to do and the look he gave me. He thought I was crazy! But, after spending much time in prayer and researching how to create unique items through sublimation, Anchored Hope Christian Clothing was born. It has been a wild ride. What started as a small idea to offer unique items has snowballed into such a blessing. And when God calls you to do something, He equips you with gifts and talents you didn’t even know you possessed. It is such a privilege to be able to share my faith in a bold way through my designs. Whether it’s a scripture verse, an uplifting message, or even something fun, I get pure joy from seeing customers find that perfect design and item. It’s been amazing to share Jesus, and boy, has God used this small business! I’ve had the opportunity to be showcased in three Galiliee-Life Marketplace seasonal magazines. My designs have been featured on the runway at a local women’s event, and I’ve even been nominated and won both the Murfreesboro Community Choice Awards in 2024 and 2025 and Rutherford County’s Ruthie’s in 2024 and 2025. It truly is remarkable to step back and see the growth that has happened with Anchored Hope. I have even been blessed to be able to set up in two brick-and-mortar shops, so people are able to shop my designs all the time. I am always just amazed at how God uses my small business and allows me to play a small role in His big story.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
When God calls you to a journey, that road is never smooth! In the middle of praying over starting Anchored Hope, my husband found himself between jobs. All I could think was, how? How on earth am I supposed to start something new when we are unemployed?? But even in the midst of uncertainty, God makes a way. I love sitting back and looking at how things started in February 2022 with no customers, no confidence, no real idea of what I was getting into, and how much Anchored Hope has grown in just a few years. Every craft show I participate in is always a little challenging. I’m nicknamed the “Jesus Booth” because that’s what I bring to the table. When someone makes a comment or calls me the “Jesus Booth,” it reminds me of why I set up and do what I do. It’s not for me but to glorify God. He has made my road the way it is for a purpose. There is a peace that I can hold onto that no matter where God takes this business or how I’m received along the way, God has it all handled.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Anchored Hope Christian Clothing is known to be your one-stop shop for all things faith and fun! I love spending time creating unique and uplifting designs and then watching them come to life on so many different items. Often people don’t realize that every item in my shop is designed, created, printed, pressed, and prayed over by these two hands. Whether it’s a fun t-shirt, a cozy sweatshirt, a sassy kitchen towel, or even a snuggly blanket, there is no better joy than watching all the pieces come together to create something truly remarkable. Some of my designs are fun and sassy, while most are full of encouragement and hope. Creating designs through sublimation is a skill I never knew I possessed. One of my favorite designs I created was for a friend’s 60th birthday. It’s a cozy blanket that reads, “This is my Bible Reading, Spending Time with Jesus, Praying, Wrapped in His Presence Blanket”. I loved it so much that I now have that listed in my online shops and always carry several to any craft shows I attend. I think what makes my designs and my business unique is that they’re relatable. I strive to create designs that will speak to my customers where they are in life. I love that I get to play a small role in my customers’ lives.

Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
If opening a small business isn’t a risk, then I don’t know what is. Coming into 2025, I prayed for God to stretch me and continue to grow Anchored Hope Christian Clothing, but I had no idea what that looked like. Imagine my surprise when I was given the opportunity to move into brick-and-mortar locations throughout Middle Tennessee. I moved into my first booth in January 2025 and gained my confidence on this new path. It was a total risk venturing into this world, and I quickly discovered that just because you have a booth somewhere does not mean it’s the right fit for what you offer. After a few months, I was invited to attend a vendor interest meeting for a new store on the Square in Murfreesboro. I went, and immediately thought, ‘Nope, this is so much more than I’m prepared to step into,’ so I walked away from the opportunity. My husband thought otherwise and told me that he felt strongly that I was to trust this process and go for it. I flippantly said to him, “If God gifts me two vintage wood doors to make a display for this shop, I will go”. Believe it or not, two weeks later, I had two vintage wood doors given to me for free. Often, if we don’t step out and take the risk, we lose out on the joy of the journey and the success that can come from trying something new.
