Today we’d like to introduce you to Sherri Davenport.
Hi Sherri, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I am a published mixed media artist who also loves music and a unique industrial vintage style . I was able to combine my love of both by creating my vintage style art guitars . I use repourposed electric guitars and design the guitar around vintage metal items , glass beads , tiles ,crystals and unique found items. I also do custom orders for clients such as Firefly Distillery in Charleston SC , Black Dog Salvage in Roanoke NC and many private collectors . Themed guitars such as Harley Davidson, Indian Motorcycle , Route 66 ,American Pickers ect have been popular as well !
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Yes it has been a wonderful experience connecting with so many people who enjoy the uniqueness of guitars I create ! I am so thankful to be able to create and share my love of mixed media art and music!
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I have actively been creating mixed media art and jewelry for the past 10 years . I have been fortunate to have had alot of my artwork and jewelry published in magazines such as Somerset Studio, Jewelry Affaire, Belle Armoire, Art Apprentice, Beads Trends,Mingle and Green Trends as well as local publications . I travel offering art workshops in breweries, distilleries, venues ,conferences and private events. I really enjoy helping others to find their creative flow and grow as not only an artist but as a person as well !
Who else deserves credit in your story?
I think we all learn from each other and I feel very blessed for all the people who have touched my life in so many ways ! I owned a Boho vibe retail store / art studio in NY for 3 years before covid hit . When covid did hit in 2020 , it was time for me to resign the lease at that time I felt it was my opportunity for a new adventure in life. That was such a wonderful time in my life and my life was so beautifully enriched by that experience! I then packed up and moved to S.C to enjoy the warmer weather and create more artful adventures!
