Daily Inspiration: Meet Rachel Mays

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rachel Mays.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’ve always moved a little differently. People used to ask if I was a dancer just watching me move through a room, and for a long time I was. Figure skating, swim team, soccer, track. Lots of motion, lots of discipline. Creative energy with nowhere obvious to land. I grew up in an environment that didn’t exactly nurture creative expression, so some things went quiet. The writer never published. The dancer never performed. But the instinct to read people, read space, and move with intention never left. Real estate became the place where all of that finally had somewhere to go. It’s analytical and physical, creative and strategic. I get to choreograph outcomes, not just close deals.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Definitely not. I learned early how to read situations quickly and pivot without waiting for permission or certainty. That mindset still drives how I move and work.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I work in real estate and the built environment, but I think in systems. Planning, design, timing, and behavior all play a role. I’m known for seeing around corners and helping clients make smarter moves under pressure.

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
All that glitters isn’t gold, and all that’s told isn’t sold.
