Exploring Life & Business with Jacob Camara of Nashville Massage and Bodywork

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jacob Camara.

Hi Jacob, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I have been a licensed massage therapist for more than 10 years and am the owner and founder of Eugene Massage and Bodywork in beautiful Eugene, Oregon, established in 2016. In November 2025, I expanded my practice and launched Nashville Massage and Bodywork.

My journey into massage therapy and the healing arts began more than 20 years ago with a deep interest in yoga. As a musician, I was experiencing chronic neck and shoulder pain, and yoga helped significantly relieve the physical symptoms. Just as importantly, it profoundly improved my mood and overall outlook. Through this experience, I began to understand how deeply interconnected the physical and psychological aspects of well-being truly are.

Intrigued by this mind–body connection, I explored other ways to support internal and external balance and discovered massage therapy as a powerful complement to yoga. Even as a young man, I felt that massage offered a meaningful way to earn a living in a field aligned with my values, which ultimately led me to pursue formal training.

I am a graduate of two respected massage programs: the Heartwood Institute in Northern California and the Pacific Center for Awareness and Bodywork in Kauai, Hawaii. Both programs were challenging and deeply transformative. Along with my ongoing yoga practice and more than a decade of self-employed business ownership, these experiences have formed the strong foundation in the healing arts upon which my work is built.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Owning a small business is a constant challenge—never easy, yet consistently rewarding and gratifying. I value the independence of being a small business owner and find deep fulfillment in work centered on helping people feel better in their bodies and lives.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Nashville Massage and Bodywork?
Nashville Massage and Bodywork is a locally owned, therapeutic massage practice offering highly skilled, individualized bodywork focused on real, lasting results. Founded by Jacob Camara, a licensed massage therapist with over 10 years of experience, the practice specializes in myofascial release and deep tissue techniques to address chronic pain, stress-related tension, and postural imbalances.

Many clients are musicians, creatives, and active professionals who depend on their bodies daily. Each session is tailored to the individual, emphasizing careful listening, thoughtful assessment, and work that addresses root causes rather than symptoms. Nashville Massage and Bodywork operates outside the high-volume spa model—clients work directly with the owner in a calm, grounded environment built on trust and consistency.

What we are most proud of is our integrity and authenticity. Our brand is centered on depth, quality, and genuine care, offering effective bodywork for people who value long-term well-being over quick fixes.

What matters most to you?
What matters most to me is integrity—showing up fully, doing honest work, and caring deeply about the people I serve. I believe meaningful healing happens when there is trust, presence, and a genuine commitment to helping someone feel better in a lasting way. I value depth over shortcuts, quality over volume, and relationships over transactions, because those values create work that is not only effective, but truly meaningful.
