Today we’d like to introduce you to Roberta Fisher.
Hi Roberta, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started my childcare business 11 years ago, and while building it came with challenges, it also helped me recognize that I had the capacity to grow beyond one role. I realized I had a wide range of skills and the ability to succeed in other areas as well, which motivated me to pursue additional opportunities and find ways to effectively leverage and monetize my skill set.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I understand that success requires consistent effort, dedication, and perseverance. Throughout my journey, I’ve faced significant challenges, but I’ve remained focused and resilient. Despite obstacles such as limited family support, experiences with discrimination, and lack of community resources, I continued to push forward and stay committed to achieving excellence in my work.
As you know, we’re big fans of Kidding Around Child Care Center. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Kidding Around Child Care Center was established in 2015 in Madison, Tennessee, and relocated to Hendersonville, Tennessee in 2023. We are the only DHS-licensed childcare center in the area offering extended hours, operating seven days a week from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Our mission is to provide a safe, loving, and inclusive environment where families from all backgrounds feel supported. We proudly serve as a bridge within the community, bringing people together through quality childcare. We are currently enrolling for evening and weekend shifts to accommodate families with nontraditional work schedules, because we believe every family deserves access to dependable, high-quality care.
What matters most to you? Why?
What matters most to me is leading with genuine authenticity. I believe trust is built when people can see that you are consistent, honest, and true to who you are. Families deserve to know and feel confident in the person caring for their children, and that transparency and authenticity are what provide parents with the peace of mind they need when entrusting someone with their child while they work to support their families.
