Today we’d like to introduce you to Bridgett Blood.
Hi Bridgett, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
In 2015, I heard a sermon from a Christian sex therapist that changed my life. It was the first time I had ever heard sexual desire described as sacred rather than something to fear. Something in me softened and I knew I wanted to be part of a better conversation.
That curiosity shaped my path. I graduated from Nyack College (Alliance University) in 2017 with a degree in Youth and Family Studies and a concentration in Marriage and Family Therapy. Even then, I sensed my calling was about holding space for healing and honest connection.
In 2021, discovering the Connection Codes gave me language for emotions and safety that I had been searching for, both personally and professionally. After 5 years, I transitioned out of my role as a spiritual formation pastor and into coaching, wanting to walk more closely with people through the tender places where desire, faith, and shame often collide.
Today, as a certified Connection Codes coach and Unwanted Guide, I work primarily with Christian singles, dating, and engaged couples. My work is about helping people approach desire and relationships with curiosity, integrity, and self-trust, believing deeply that our bodies are good and that faith can be a place of healing rather than harm.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Honestly, a big obstacle has been not having language for this work early on. For a long time, the only options I saw in Christian spaces were silence or fear around desire, and stepping into a more embodied conversation didn’t always make sense to people. That came with misunderstanding and a fair amount of resistance.
Another challenge was changing direction professionally. Leaving full-time ministry for coaching meant grieving something I loved while trusting a calling I couldn’t fully explain yet. There were seasons that felt lonely, financially uncertain, and emotionally stretching.
And on a personal level, I’ve had to keep doing my own work. You can’t guide others toward wholeness without letting your own story be shaped too. Learning to hold desire with integrity, especially as a single woman of faith, has been tender and sometimes costly.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I work with Christian singles, dating, and engaged couples who want a more honest and embodied approach to relationships and sexuality. I help people understand their emotions, desire, and boundaries in a way that aligns with their faith and builds real self-trust.
I’m known for creating safe, grounded spaces where conversations about desire and shame don’t feel scary or taboo. What I’m most proud of is watching people move with clarity and integrity in their relationships, staying connected to both their bodies and their faith without feeling like they have to choose between the two.
Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
People can work with me through one-on-one coaching, my RECLAIM group coaching program, and by inviting me to speak at churches, conferences, and events. I also co-host the Dating and Desire podcast, where we explore faith, relationships, and embodied desire in real and honest ways.
