Rising Stars: Meet Jooci of nashville

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jooci.

Hi Jooci, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I got started with music as a kid, vocals/rapping since i was 16. my first rap song was with a group called Thot Police, unfortunately you cant find that anywhere anymore. i began producing at 17 and havent stopped since. now i do just about everything i can and try to add more to my abilities all the time.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
absolutely not, a lot of the time its very hard to keep the momentum after a shoe or a drop that does well, and that cam be very discouraging. And its very easy to “take an L” when u have to pay so much for venues and then only so many people show up

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
i produce, rap, sing, mix, and master most all of my music unless specified otherwise. my favorite would have to be when i dont have to do everything though, so i can focus rather than spread myself thin. i am most proud of an unreleased i just performed a few days ago called “With U Soon” which is ill be my next drop, so look out for that. something i think sets me apart is my variety, no song sounds exactly the same.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
My whole community of Abstract Underground, a sort of collective that my bestfriend, Balenino, and i put together. Balentino specifically is my greatest competitor and inspiration, simultaneously. My mother as well, is the reason i became a musician in the first place.
