Hi Blake & Laura, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
We started NTO Bedliners out of a simple goal to build something of our own and create a better life for our family. We have both ran businesses in the past so we had a background in serving our customers and we knew we were willing to work hard and figure things out as we went in this adventure together.
In the beginning, we were working out of a small space on Beckwith Road (thank you Mr. Lewis). Laura handles the marketing, scheduling, and customer communication and helps Blake prep trucks, while Blake focuses on all installs and prepping trucks and coating them. It was a lot of long days, learning curves, and trial and error, but we stayed consistent and focused on doing quality work and treating people right.
Over time, word of mouth started to grow, and we built a reputation for being detail-oriented and reliable. That really helped us gain traction locally. As we grew, we expanded from just bedliners into truck accessories, and that’s when Nashville Truck Outfitters started to take shape as a bigger vision.
Today, we are still growing, still learning, and still focused on doing things the right way. It’s been a lot of hard work, but also really rewarding to see something we built from the ground up continue to grow.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
There’s been a lot of risk involved, especially when it comes to making big decisions like moving into a larger space before we fully knew what to expect. That was a leap of faith for us.
We’ve also put in a lot of long hours. In the beginning especially, it felt like we were working all the time just trying to keep things moving forward. There were moments of doubt, stress, and wondering if we were making the right decisions.
But every challenge has pushed us to grow. We’ve learned how to problem solve, adapt quickly, and trust ourselves more. Looking back, those risks and long days have been worth it. It’s really rewarding to see what we’ve built and to know we didn’t give up when things felt uncertain.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
At NTO Bedliners by Nashville Truck Outfitters, we specialize in spray-on bedliners and truck accessories. Our main focus is providing high-quality, durable protection for trucks while also helping customers customize their vehicles with products like bed covers, steps, and other accessories.
What we’re really known for is our attention to detail. We don’t rush jobs or cut corners. We take the time to properly prep each truck, remove lights and accessories when needed, and make sure there’s no overspray. That level of care is something our customers notice and appreciate.
I’m most proud of the reputation we’ve built. A lot of our growth has come from word of mouth and customer referrals, which means people trust us and the work we do. That’s huge to me.
What sets us apart is that this isn’t just another service we offer—it’s what we do. We’re hands-on in every job, and we truly care about the end result. We treat every truck like it’s our own, and I think that shows in the quality of our work.
We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
Something that surprises a lot of people is that we haven’t been doing this for decades. A lot of people assume we’ve been in this industry forever because of the quality and attention to detail in our work, but in reality, we built this from the ground up not that long ago.
We’ve just been really intentional about doing things the right way from the start. We put a lot of time into learning, improving, and holding ourselves to a high standard, even when no one was watching.
