Check Out Trula Rockwell’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Trula Rockwell.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I got started in my content creation journey in early 2016 when I began blogging. I signed up for a free WordPress website (formerly known as Southern Belle Grace) and began writing blog posts that I personally wanted to see out in the world what I wasn’t seeing. In 2020 during the pandemic, I reconnected with a lot of my beliefs outside the the typical religion of the South and rebranded to my current name Magnolias & Crystals. Yes, I’m a witch in the literal sense of the word and bring that in my content creation to a degree.

Since 2020 and the rebranding, I have continued to share and create content that I have felt is missing from the world in different perspectives. This has branched out to a Youtube channel, Twitch streaming, and now in 2026 a podcast.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It hasn’t always been easy. I don’t come from a background of extreme wealth privilege where everything is paid for by someone else and I just get to do what I want.

I still work a full time job (my 9-5 hustle as I call it) and make my content around those hours.

One of the biggest struggles I even still wrestle with today is just to show up authentically. My content isn’t here to rage bait or make anyone feel singled out. I want to build a place where cozy community exists for those who need it.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
So I’m a creative in the extend of word smithing and video content creation. Other than the occasional thing, I handle a vast majority of my video editing, post creation, and many other facets of my content creation. I actually have been the one doing most of the maintenance when it comes to my website design – which is an ongoing process as I am working to make it more ADA accessible for everyone on the internet.

My most proud moment is related to a lot of my bookish content though it it is from 2018. Penguin Random House shared my book review for the Limetown prequel book that was released that year and I have honestly been chasing that high ever since.

I think the biggest thing that sets me apart from others is that I’m not trying to pretend to be something I’m not. I’m doing my content creation for the people who need a safe space to land, a cozy community that understands them. If it makes me money, great! But if it doesn’t, at least I know I created something that meant a lot to people.

Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
Not that I can think of. My blog holds most of the direct information but I’m also happy to hop on a call.
