Exploring Life & Business with Mandi Goble of Face Fabulous Medical Spa

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mandi Goble.

Hi Mandi, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I dedicated the majority of my career to wound career before making the change into aesthetics. I was in my mid 30’s and currently living in California. I had family photos taken and was horrified at my crows feet. Most people would have simply sought treatment from a provider. Not me. I’m always going to choose the road less traveled. A mere thought popped into my head and changed the course of my life. “Why would I have someone else do it? I can learn and do it myself.” I began researching on how to learn and where to go to position myself in a major unknown. I found the training that worked for me and never looked back. That was in 2012. We moved to Kanas at the end of 2012 and Face Fabulous opened it’s first doors in Jan of 2014. My goal for myself was to to have two locations in KS in 5 years. I had two locations in five years but one in TN. I opened the second location in May 2019 in Clarksville, TN. I am happy to report those crows feet that once motivated me, continue to serve as a reminder of my uncertain and simple beginnings. I have no regrets and I know that one decision I made has made all the difference.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road has definitely not been smooth. Remember, I am the road less traveled. This isn’t a bragging moment but maybe it is. I have fought for every inch of space I hold in this industry. I have done it my way with my beliefs and what is best for my patients. I hold the responsibility of treating a patient with the highest honor. I am always blazing a trail for this industry to stop focusing on the retail and start focusing on the patient. There will always be struggles and bumpy roads. What defines us is the ability to keep going in those seemingly defeating moments. I have pushed through every road block that looking back, should have broken me to quit. It’s in those stressful moments that I will pivot and adjust my focus and figure it out. That is what it takes in this industry.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Face Fabulous Medical Spa?
Face Fabulous is a boutique med spa that is run by an amazing duo that consists of myself and my husband, who runs the front of the house. My practice is small but it is mighty. I have had employees and another injector in the past, but what I found was that I was happiest when it was only me treating my patients. I believe in treating the entire person as everything is connected. I believe that personal attention to detail separates us from surrounding competitors that are more “sell” driven. I am not afraid to tell my patients no if they ask for a treatment that is not right for them. Most med spas will be more than happy to take your money to make you look like a Brats doll, but I will talk you out of unnecessary every single time. My patients’ outcomes mean more to me than my wallet ever will. I have patients ranging from 21 to 85 and the ability to treat that wide of an age group effectively and safely with positive outcomes sets me apart from “bubble gum” aesthetic med spas.

Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
I am not a huge fan of sitting down to read a book but I love to research. I can spend hours researching. I love finding holistic home remedies for skin conditions and illnesses. I find it fascinating that we possess everything we need to heal ourselves. I’m forever searching for a hobby. I work out and I have recently found myself enjoying gardening. Hands in the dirt is good for the soul.
