Today we’d like to introduce you to Raw Proof.
Hi Raw, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
E.T and Raw Proof have both respectively ran tv shows as well as long standing quarterly events and radio shows pertaining to HipHop (the worlds most influential culture).
Barz In The Boro is a reflection of Meant For The Milkcrate, The Fringe Radio Show, The Goin’ In Show – reminiscent of the Golden Era of HipHop – there is a need to keep the unwritten rules and codes of the artform(s) alive and translate them to the next generation.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It’s always a challenge when you are looking for a venue to host a local HipHop event. We are a regional event. Although, because we brandish the name HipHop, there are misconceptions. We find ourselves having to explain that what we promote is an artform. The artists we invite to perform are the type of creative people that put the artform first and foremost. Before the money, before the fame, before a particular lifestyle, they put a large amount of effort into their craft.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
To shamelessy plug ourselves real quick. E.T has a new album out titled Positivity Over Persona distributed by Sony Records (via The Orchard). Raw Proof has a project he had released last year called Inner Power. Both artists are known for music that has a message and ultimately promotes healthy concepts like perseverance, hope, love and community.
What’s next?
We are booked out for the remainder of 2026. The plan is to invite some of the same artists back for 2027 and incorporate others who haven’t graced our stage yet. We are seeking sponsorphip/partnership as well as improving our marketing and promotion so please do us a solid and spread the word.
