Daily Inspiration: Meet Andrea Jones

Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrea Jones.

Hi Andrea, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Photography started as something deeply personal for me. After I had my first baby 14 years ago, I realized I had completely missed out on those sweet newborn photos, and I tried to capture them myself. Let’s just say… it did not go well. But that moment lit something in me. I became determined to learn, to do it right, and to never miss those fleeting moments again.
What began as a hobby quickly turned into a passion. I started teaching myself, then invested in learning from others, including Alisha Bacon Photography, who helped me truly understand manual shooting and the technical side of things. Over the years, I’ve continued to grow through classes at Auburn University and mentorships with Milky Way and Newborn Nerds.
I’ve never stopped learning, and I don’t think I ever will. This work means so much to me—not just creating beautiful images, but preserving moments that families will hold onto forever. What started as a personal disappointment became the foundation of something I now pour my whole heart into every single day.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. I was a military wife when I started, so we moved often—and every time, I had to rebuild my business from scratch. That was one of the biggest challenges.
On top of that, there was a lot of trial and error as I learned and grew into my style. But those experiences made me more resilient and helped me refine what I do.
Now that I’m settled in Hendersonville, I finally get to build something lasting, and that feels really special.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a newborn and family photographer, and newborn photography is truly my passion. I specialize in posed newborn sessions and photograph around 140 newborns a year, along with maternity, milestone, and family sessions.
There aren’t many photographers who truly specialize in newborns, and I’ve invested years into learning how to safely pose babies while creating those soft, timeless images parents love. My studio is fully stocked, honestly overfilled with wraps, props, and outfits, so families can simply show up with their baby and relax.
What I’m most proud of is the experience I create. I want parents to feel taken care of from start to finish and leave with images they’ll treasure forever.

Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
The best way to work with me is by booking a session through my website or reaching out on social media. I love connecting with expecting and new parents and helping plan sessions that feel easy and special for them.
I’m always open to collaborating with other creatives or brands that align with my style, especially within the baby and motherhood space.
And honestly, one of the biggest ways people can support my business is by sharing my work, tagging me, and recommending me to friends and family. It truly means everything to a small business like mine.
