Today we’d like to introduce you to Jason Campbell.
Hi Jason, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
JCFilms Studios: A Movement Built on Faith, Film, and Purpose Now Expanding Through Strategic Partnership in Nashville.
JCFilms Studios has grown from a grassroots vision into one of the most active and impactful faith-based film production companies in the country. Founded on the belief that storytelling can change lives, JCFilms set out not just to create movies but to build a movement centered on faith, family, and purpose.
Over the years, JCFilms has produced more than 135 films, ranging from powerful true stories to inspiring family features. What sets the studio apart is its unique model—inviting everyday people to step onto real film sets, take on speaking roles, and be part of the storytelling process. This hands-on approach has created opportunities for thousands while cultivating a nationwide community of aspiring filmmakers and storytellers.
The studio has worked alongside well-known actors such as Dean Cain, Kevin Sorbo, and Richard Grieco, helping elevate the reach and quality of its productions while staying true to its mission of delivering meaningful, faith-driven content.
As part of its continued growth, JCFilms launched its streaming platform, JC+, now home to hundreds of uplifting films that reach audiences around the world while supporting the creation of new projects.
In recent years, JCFilms has also expanded its impact through immersive on-set experiences, film camps, and training programs designed to mentor and equip the next generation of Christian filmmakers. With active production clubs across multiple cities and a slate of films produced each year, the studio continues to scale both creatively and operationally.
A key driver of this momentum has been its collaboration with Push Focus Media and Matthew Lawrence. Together, the teams have already produced over a dozen faith and family films, combining creative vision with production excellence to deliver stories that resonate with audiences nationwide.
Push Focus Media has become an integral creative partner, contributing to multiple JC Films projects and helping shape the look, feel, and execution of these productions. As the company expands into the Nashville area, this partnership is positioned to grow even stronger, opening doors to new talent, new locations, and even greater storytelling opportunities.
This collaboration continues to feature recognizable talent, including Dean Cain and Kevin Sorbo, further strengthening the credibility and reach of each project while maintaining a strong foundation of faith-based storytelling.
Today, JCFilms Studios stands as more than just a production company, it is a thriving movement. Through strategic partnerships, innovative production models, and an unwavering commitment to its mission, JCFilms is redefining what it means to create films with purpose.
With a proven track record, a growing network of partners, and a clear vision for the future, the next chapter for JC Films Studios is already underway and it’s just getting started.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Like any growing production company, JC Films Studios has faced its share of challenges along the journey.
One of the biggest has been balancing rapid growth with consistency. Producing a high volume of films each year while maintaining quality, organization, and meaningful storytelling requires constant refinement of systems, teams, and processes.
Another challenge has been navigating distribution in an ever-changing media landscape. With traditional outlets often limited for faith-based content, the team has had to be creative—building relationships, leveraging platforms, and ultimately launching JC+ to ensure these stories reach the right audiences.
Logistics have also played a major role. With productions happening across multiple states and involving large numbers of participants—many of whom are new to filmmaking—coordinating schedules, locations, training, and expectations can be complex. Yet, it’s also part of what makes the JC Films model so unique and impactful.
There have also been creative challenges—telling authentic, compelling faith-based stories in a culture that is often skeptical of the genre. This has pushed the team to continually raise the bar in storytelling, production value, and casting, working with talent like Dean Cain and Kevin Sorbo to bring credibility and excellence to each project.
Finally, as with many mission-driven organizations, funding and sustainability have required innovation. Rather than relying solely on traditional financing, JC Films has built a model centered around community involvement, on-set experiences, and direct audience support.
Each of these challenges has ultimately strengthened the organization—shaping it into a resilient, adaptable, and purpose-driven studio that continues to grow and evolve.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
At JC Films Studios, we produce faith-based and family-friendly films that are designed to inspire, uplift, and make a lasting impact. But beyond just filmmaking, we specialize in creating real opportunities for people to step into the industry—many for the very first time.
What makes us unique is our model. We don’t just hire actors—we invite people into the process. Through our on-set movie experiences, film camps, and nationwide production clubs, individuals from all walks of life can receive speaking roles, earn IMDb credit, and gain hands-on experience working alongside seasoned professionals.
We are known for our volume and our reach. Having produced over 135 films, we’ve become one of the most active faith-based production companies in the country. Our projects often feature recognizable talent like Dean Cain, Kevin Sorbo, and Richard Grieco, while still staying grounded in our mission of mentorship and community.
We also specialize in building partnerships that expand our impact. Our collaboration with Push Focus Media and Matthew Lawrence is a great example—together, we’ve already produced over a dozen films and continue to grow that slate with purpose-driven storytelling.
What we’re most proud of isn’t just the number of films—it’s the people. Thousands of individuals have stepped onto set with us, many discovering confidence, purpose, and even new career paths through the experience. Seeing lives changed through storytelling is at the core of everything we do.
What truly sets us apart is that we’ve built more than a studio—we’ve built a movement. A movement where filmmaking becomes a tool for ministry, mentorship, and impact. While others focus solely on the end product, we focus on both the film and the journey of the people helping create it.
At the end of the day, we’re not just telling stories—we’re creating opportunities, building community, and using film to make a difference.
Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
There are several ways people can work with, collaborate with, and support JC Films Studios—and that accessibility is a big part of who we are.
First, individuals can get involved directly through our on-set movie experiences. These are immersive opportunities where people can step onto a real film set, receive a speaking role, earn IMDb credit, and work alongside experienced cast and crew. No prior acting experience is required—we guide people through the process.
For those looking to collaborate creatively, we partner with writers, producers, churches, and filmmakers across the country. Whether someone has a script, a story idea, or simply a passion for faith-based storytelling, we’re always open to exploring partnerships that align with our mission.
We also work closely with production partners like Push Focus Media and creatives like Matthew Lawrence to expand both the quality and reach of our films. These types of collaborations allow us to scale production and bring in new talent, locations, and resources.
Another key way to support what we do is through our streaming platform, JC+. Subscribing and watching films directly contributes to funding future productions and helps us continue creating meaningful content.
Churches and organizations can also partner with us by hosting film camps, production events, or even serving as filming locations. These partnerships allow entire communities to be part of the filmmaking experience.
Finally, one of the simplest but most impactful ways to support us is by sharing our films—whether through social media, hosting screenings, or introducing our content to new audiences. Word of mouth has played a huge role in our growth.
At the heart of it, we’ve built a model where almost anyone can get involved—whether that’s stepping in front of the camera, working behind the scenes, partnering on a project, or simply helping us spread the message.
