Check Out Brittani Washington’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittani Washington.

Hi Brittani, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started playing in church at six years old, performing multiple services each week. That environment gave me discipline, consistency, and a deep connection to music early on. From there, I grew into a professional touring musician, working with artists like Beyoncé and CeeLo Green, and spending years performing on stages around the world.

Over time, I realized I wanted more than just being behind the scenes. I wanted to develop my own voice—not only as a performer, but as a creator and someone who could make an impact beyond music. That led me to start BPAC, a program focused on helping kids learn music in a way that allows them to be themselves and feel heard.

Recently, I made the decision to move to Spain, which has been one of the most transformative experiences of my life. Being in a new culture, learning a new language, and stepping outside of everything familiar has pushed me to grow both personally and artistically.

Today, I’m focused on stepping fully into my identity as an artist, building meaningful projects, and using everything I’ve learned to create spaces where people especially young people can grow, express themselves, and feel seen.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. One of the biggest challenges has been transitioning from being behind the scenes to stepping into the spotlight as an artist. When you’ve spent years supporting others, people get used to seeing you in that role, so shifting how you’re perceived can be uncomfortable—not just for them, but for you as well.

I’ve also always been multi-instrumental, which is a gift, but it can sometimes create confusion around identity. People tend to want to define you as one thing, and I’ve had to learn how to define myself instead of letting others do it for me.

Beyond that, growth itself can be challenging. Moving to a new country, adapting to a different culture, and learning a new language has pushed me in ways I didn’t expect. But those challenges have helped me become more grounded, more confident, and more clear about who I am and what I want to create.

Looking back, I wouldn’t change any of it. The struggles shaped me into someone who not only understands the craft, but also understands the importance of stepping fully into your own voice.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
At my core, I’m a musician and creative, but my work goes beyond performance. I’ve spent years as a professional touring musician, working with major artists and developing a deep understanding of live music, discipline, and collaboration. I specialize in being versatile—I play multiple instruments and adapt quickly, which has allowed me to move fluidly across different roles in the industry.

What I’m most proud of, though, is stepping into my own voice and creating something that reflects who I am. Through BPAC, I’ve been able to build a space where kids can learn music in a way that feels natural and empowering to them. For me, it’s not just about teaching notes—it’s about helping them feel seen, confident, and free to express themselves.

What sets me apart is that I’ve experienced both sides of the industry. I understand what it takes to support at a high level, but I also know what it means to step forward and lead creatively. That perspective, combined with my adaptability and passion for people, allows me to connect in a way that’s both technical and deeply human.

At the end of the day, everything I do is about growth—my own and the people around me—and using music as a bridge to bring that out in others.

What matters most to you? Why?
What matters most to me is people—especially creating spaces where they feel safe, seen, and understood. I care deeply about children, about community, and about making sure no one feels overlooked or without support.

There’s a lot of division and confusion in the world right now, but I’ve learned through music that people are often expressing the same emotions in different ways. That realization has shaped how I approach everything I do. I want to use my voice, my creativity, and my communication skills to help bridge those gaps and bring people closer together.

I’m also passionate about finding real, practical ways to help—whether that’s through creating opportunities for young people, building spaces where they can grow, or contributing to solutions that support those in need. At the core of it all, I believe everyone matters, and I want my work to reflect that in a meaningful and lasting way.
