Check Out Alex Reavis’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alex Reavis.

Hi Alex, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was born and raised in Nashville, TN, watching the city grow through the 90’s and 2000’s. I got started learning photography as a teenager, my mom a professional photographer and computer expert. In high school I studied filmmakers and artists that would inspire me to go on to graduate from MTSU with a degree in Film & TV Production. I wanted to then get real-world experience, and founded all3Y3Z with my friend and photographer, Josiah Sadek. I shot live concert footage for The House, out of Chattanooga, for a concert with KEY!, an artist who I had previously shot and edited video for. My first music video, “Cosa Nostra,” with Gee Slab, came in February of 2018, launching over 200 more music videos to date.
From there, the work expanded quickly. I shot my first commercial project for Mercedes-Benz of Nashville that year, and began working with many local businesses from barbers to restaurants to screen-printers to healthcare. Today, I primarily focus on business success through being a media production asset and marketing. Last year I launched my website, all3Y3Z.com where anyone can book a free consultation any time. Follow me on Instagram to see my most current collaborations. Last year, I also began shooting freelance video, photo, and editing for Shootday, a global media production service for businesses which has allowed me to shoot with major brands like Pepsi, Coca-Cola, Ooni Pizza Ovens, Cavco Home Builders, Automotive Logistics, Clearway Health, and more. This year I’ve also introduced booking through AirBNB Services, opening the door to more creative opportunities.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Of course, both good and bad and everything in between come with life. If I had to pin-point the main struggles along the way, the financial reality of freelancing is certainly one. No steady paycheck or employment benefits, the constant hustle. I took a job at Tik-Tok as a Quality Analyst from 2022-2025 just to give myself a break from the grind of self-employment. As a filmmaker by training, I’ve had to learn a lot about business management. I’ve still got a lot to learn, but that’s part of what keeps it interesting!

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I specialize in videography, photography, editing, creative direction, and marketing for businesses and artists. Typically, a business owner comes to me with a great brand or product, and needs content creation and/or help creating their visual identity with media production, or a way to make their voice be heard and grow their business utilizing strategic marketing. I try and build a visual language around what they’re already doing to create the results they’re looking for.
I’m probably most proud of my range. I’ve shot in such a wide variety of situations, for so many different types of people and companies. I’ve directed music videos inspired by Pedro Costa and Gaspar Noé then turned around and built a marketing strategy for a local food and beverage brand. I like that I’m able to adapt to whatever the project needs may be.
I think what sets me apart from other is probably that the visuals are always cinematically inspired, but the spirit of the shoots themselves feel more like a documentary. The behind-the-scenes energy is always high on set. I always want to get to know everyone I work with, understand what motivates them and how they think.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
I guess I think of success in pretty simple terms, achieving a goal, where a goal doesn’t have to be consciously stated or reached at a particular time. Success could be anything from seeing your collaborators absolutely loving the first cut of a video edit to realizing that all of the shoots on the calendar this week are going to be particularly fun or interesting. There’s little success, big success. Depending on your perspective, your day could be full of success.
