Community Highlights: Meet Kara Dellinger of Well Strategy Studio

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kara Dellinger.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
For nearly a decade, I built my career helping businesses across the country grow through organic marketing. I loved the work because, to me, marketing was never just about visibility or sales; it was about understanding people, telling meaningful stories, and helping businesses create genuine connection and impact.

From the outside, everything looked successful. But behind the scenes, I was often putting my own well-being last. I had spent years helping businesses thrive while ignoring the fact that I wasn’t properly taking care of myself.

Eventually, that caught up with me.

What started as a personal decision to prioritize my health became a turning point in my life. As I began exploring wellness more deeply, I experienced firsthand the role wellness businesses can play in someone’s life. I found spaces that helped people slow down, heal, reconnect with themselves, and feel supported in a world that often encourages burnout.

The more time I spent in those environments, the more I noticed something else, too: the people behind these businesses were carrying so much. There was so much heart behind what they were building. These weren’t entrepreneurs opening businesses just to sell something; they were creating spaces that genuinely changed lives. And yet, many of them were pouring everything they had into helping others while quietly struggling to sustain and grow their own businesses.

I realized that everything I had spent years building expertise in, marketing strategy, branding, storytelling, and organic growth, could be used in a way that felt much more aligned and meaningful to me personally. I didn’t just want to help businesses grow anymore. I wanted to support the people who were helping others live well.

That realization became Well Strategy Studio.

Today, I combine a decade of experience in business growth with a genuine passion for whole-body wellness and community. What inspires me most is helping purpose-driven wellness businesses grow in a way that feels intentional, sustainable, and true to the impact they’re making in people’s lives, so both entrepreneurs and their clients can live better, longer.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road, and honestly, I think a lot of the most meaningful growth came from the harder seasons.

One of the biggest struggles was learning that success on paper doesn’t always mean you feel healthy, fulfilled, or balanced in your actual life. For years, I was deeply invested in helping businesses grow, and I poured so much of myself into my work because I genuinely cared about the people and brands I was supporting. But somewhere along the way, I stopped paying attention to my own well-being.

There’s a certain culture around ambition and entrepreneurship that can make burnout feel normal, even admirable at times. I think I convinced myself for a while that constantly pushing through exhaustion was just part of being driven. Eventually, though, I realized that ignoring your health catches up with you, mentally, physically, and emotionally.

Another challenge was having the courage to pivot toward something more aligned with who I had become. Even with years of experience, stepping into a more focused niche and building a business around wellness felt vulnerable because it was personal. It wasn’t just strategy anymore; it was connected to my own story, values, and experiences.

There were also moments of uncertainty that come with entrepreneurship in general: wondering if you’re making the right decisions, navigating growth, learning boundaries, and figuring out how to sustainably support both your clients and yourself. I think many business owners quietly carry that weight.

But looking back, those struggles shaped the foundation of what I do now. They gave me a much deeper understanding of the wellness industry, not just from a marketing perspective, but from a human one. They also changed the way I define success. To me now, success is building something meaningful, sustainable, and aligned, while still making space for your own well-being and life outside of work.

We’ve been impressed with Well Strategy Studio, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Wellness business owners open their studios because they are deeply passionate about helping people feel healthier, more confident, and more connected to themselves. They are incredibly skilled at what they do, but like many entrepreneurs, they can easily become overwhelmed by the constant demands of running and growing a business, especially when they’re operating from unclear systems, inconsistent processes, or pure guesswork. That’s where Well Strategy Studio comes in, providing wellness studios with marketing operation strategies to create sustainable client and revenue growth.

We help wellness studios create intentional client experiences, stronger retention, and sustainable growth through clear strategies and systems that support both the business and the people behind it. Our goal is not just to help studios attract new clients, but to help them build businesses where people feel genuinely cared for and excited to return.

What makes our approach different is that we truly understand the emotional side of wellness businesses. These are not just companies selling services; they are spaces built with heart, purpose, and an incredible amount of emotional investment. We approach strategy with both expertise and empathy because we understand there are real people behind these brands pouring themselves into helping others live well.

Brand-wise, what I’m most proud of is creating a business that feels deeply aligned not only with my own values, but with the values of the clients we serve. I never wanted Well Strategy Studio to feel overly transactional, but rather thoughtful, supportive, intentional, and genuinely invested in the long-term success and sustainability of the businesses we work with, as well as the well-being of the communities they serve.

More than anything, I want readers to know that wellness businesses matter. They create spaces where people heal, reconnect with themselves, build healthier lives, and find support during difficult seasons. Supporting the people behind those spaces is incredibly meaningful to me, and it’s the heart behind everything we do at Well Strategy Studio.
