Today we’d like to introduce you to Tyler Bedwell.
Hi Tyler, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started as a graphic designer after earning my Bachelor’s degree from Harding University in 2009. After several years in the design industry, I launched my own business in 2015, Studio B Print & Design, originally focused on stationery design and custom wedding stationery. My work was sold wholesale to retailers, through Etsy, and directly to clients nationwide.
Around the time of COVID, I shifted away from stationery and narrowed the design side of my business to branding and print design while also introducing fine art more intentionally into my work. Over the last few years, that side has continued to grow, leading to a stronger focus on realism-based fine art alongside a smaller selection of branding clients. Since then, I’ve been invited to exhibit in regional juried art shows and display work locally throughout Middle Tennessee businesses and venues.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, it definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road. One of the biggest challenges has been learning to spend less time chasing what was popular or expected at the time, whether that was certain design trends, aesthetics, or even categories of work, and instead lean more into the kind of design and fine art that came naturally to me.
Over the years, I’ve realized the most meaningful and sustainable work comes from developing your own voice instead of constantly trying to fit into what everyone else is doing. A large part of the journey has been finding and refining my own lane creatively and professionally, especially within the fine art world.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a realism-based artist and graphic designer, creating heirloom-quality fine art and thoughtful branding work. In my fine art practice, I primarily work in watercolor, pen, charcoal, and gouache. My paintings and drawings often center around meaningful places, architectural details, and collected objects that carry a sense of history, faith, and legacy.
My work is known for refined detail, restrained color palettes, and a balance between old-world influence and contemporary design. Whether through fine art or branding, I’m drawn to creating visuals that feel timeless, meaningful, and enduring rather than trend-driven.
It’s important to me to curate a body of work that feels genuinely reflective of my own voice and style. Over time, I’ve learned the importance of staying consistent in that and creating work with depth, meaning, and longevity.
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
One of the most important lessons I’ve learned is the importance of trusting God both in business and in life. As my business has grown and changed over the years, I’ve had to continually remind myself that He’s ultimately the one guiding it.
There have been many moments where my own plans, expectations, or ideas looked different than the direction things actually went, but over time I’ve seen that His plans are always far better than anything I could have created on my own. That perspective has brought a lot more peace, clarity, and purpose to the work I do.
