Hi Shanna, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started my journey in the beauty industry nearly 20 years ago with a passion for helping women feel confident, seen, and beautiful. What began as hairstyling eventually evolved into something much deeper for me. Over the years, I realized that healthy hair is connected to so much more than appearance ;it’s tied to wellness, confidence, lifestyle, and even emotional health.
As the owner of Definition of Beauty S.R.P.T., I built my business around creating a luxury experience while prioritizing healthy hair care and genuine client relationships. My chair became a safe space where women could not only transform their hair, but also feel heard and cared for.
That passion led me into the world of trichology, where I expanded my education to better understand scalp disorders, hair loss, and the internal factors that affect hair health. Becoming a Holistic Trichologist allowed me to bridge beauty and wellness in a way that feels purposeful and impactful. Today, I combine professional hair care with scalp analysis, holistic education, and customized treatment plans to help clients achieve healthier hair from the inside out.
My journey has been built on consistency, faith, continued education, and truly caring about people. I’m grateful that what started as a love for hairstyling has grown into a business and mission centered around restoration, confidence, and helping women feel like the best version of themselves.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely has not been a completely smooth road. Like many entrepreneurs, especially in the beauty industry, there were seasons where I had to learn through experience, setbacks, and perseverance. Building a business takes more than talent ; it requires consistency, sacrifice, and the ability to keep going even when things feel uncertain.
One of the biggest challenges was balancing the creative side of the industry with the business side. Over the years, I had to learn how to build systems, create boundaries, manage burnout, and continue evolving professionally while still showing up fully for my clients.
Another challenge was stepping into a new space with trichology. Transitioning from being known as “just a hairstylist” to positioning myself as a Holistic Trichologist required confidence, education, and faith in the vision God gave me. I had to invest in continued learning, trust the process, and sometimes step outside of what was comfortable in order to grow.

Definition of Beauty S.R.P.T. is a luxury healthy hair and holistic trichology brand focused on helping women restore confidence through both beauty and wellness. I specialize in healthy hair care, scalp health, hair loss support, and customized treatment plans designed specifically for each client; because no two scalp or hair journeys are the same.
What sets me apart is the experience and intention behind everything I do. I combine nearly 20 years of hairstyling experience with holistic trichology education to help clients not only look good, but truly understand what’s happening with their hair and scalp from the inside out. My clients know they’re going to receive honesty, education, care, and results-driven service in a space that feels safe and uplifting.
Brand wise, I’m most proud that my business has evolved with purpose. What started as hairstyling grew into something much deeper rooted in restoration, confidence, and helping women feel seen. I want readers to know that my brand is about more than hair; it’s about helping women reconnect with themselves and feel beautiful in a healthy, authentic way.
How do you define success?
I define success as being able to walk in purpose while making a genuine impact on people’s lives.
