Check Out Jackson Pollard’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jackson Pollard.

Hi Jackson, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I was born in the early 2000’s and immediately from a very young age I knew I wanted to be a musician. My father would play guitar for me as a kid and instill in me the idea that music was a way to change the world, and that the arts were a way not only of expressing oneself, but also a way of finding commonality on a global scale. It was ancient and ever lasting. So as I got older I got my first guitar, around the age of 12, and I never put it down. Unfortunately as things do for sick people. I got myself in horrible situations and felt safe in a state of insanity. I became horribly addicted to drugs of all kinds, overdosed time and time again in classrooms and sidewalks. All my friends and bands at some point had to move away from me. Then I got help, I am now 6 months clean, reunited with my bands, and can finally enjoy the thing I love most again. Guitar.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No, absolutely not, there were smooth moments, but until recently with my change in lifestyle. Every single day was like flying 100 mph down the freeway towards a police blockade ready to crash and burn, skidding my way into heaven screaming “I don’t know how I got here!”

Drug addiction, is as brutal as it gets. We, as addicts, are a strange group of people, but somehow, we find solace.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
What sets me apart is my use of insanity in my music. I get my hands dirty, I get obsessed, I see music as more than a nice song and a fun time. It is a fundamental part of my existence, it coincides with my life in a way so that it doesn’t matter if there is external validation for my value, as long as there is sound, my smile remains.

I studied audio production in college at MTSU, I played shows with various bands, some I started, some on contract. I do studio work for people in California, Tennessee, New York… it doesn’t matter to me, if I can have a guitar in my hands, you have my world I will be all in on accomplishing a goal and make a dream fruitful for someone.

How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
Find me, talk to me, and ask me.

My name is Jackson “Jiggy” Pollard.

Listen to my music, and try to figure me out.
