Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiffany Smith.
Tiffany, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
When I was a child, most girls wanted dolls and Barbies, but I wanted cameras and microphones. Even at a young age, I was drawn to storytelling, media, and being behind the scenes creating something meaningful. At the same time, I was still trying to figure out exactly what my passion looked like, so after high school I decided to just work and focus on life.
A couple of years later, I became a mom, and that completely changed my perspective. Motherhood motivated me to better myself and build a future I could truly be proud of. That journey eventually led me back to what I had always loved. I knew if I was going to go back to school, it had to be for something I was genuinely passionate about and for me, that was holding a camera or a microphone and entertaining the people.
I’ve always loved entertainment and music even though I can’t really sing myself. Growing up, the only way I knew I could still be part of that world was by becoming a radio personality. I loved the idea of using my voice, connecting with people, and being involved in music and media in a meaningful way.
From there, I began fully leaning into my passion for media and storytelling. What started as a childhood interest became a real purpose and career path. My journey in media truly began in 2013 when I started school at Nashville State Community College. After completing two years there, I graduated in 2015 with my Associate of Arts degree. In January 2016, I transferred to Tennessee State University, and honestly, that’s when everything really started coming together for me.
As soon as I got to TSU, I immediately became active in my passion. I joined a radio show called “In The Mix” alongside three incredible women, and while taking different media classes, I completely fell in love with what happens behind the scenes. I became heavily involved in video production, and through that work, I started building relationships with amazing creatives and industry professionals. One opportunity led to another, and eventually I helped shoot a movie pilot that was later shopped to Netflix.
That experience opened so many doors for me. I began creating a real name for myself in production around Nashville and started freelancing with different production companies. Video production and live events quickly became a huge part of my career, and before long, I found myself working behind the scenes of major events happening throughout the city. It was incredibly fulfilling because even though I wasn’t always in front of the camera, I was still part of entertainment, storytelling, and culture.
Before graduating from TSU, I interned at 92Q, and that experience reminded me that I didn’t have to choose between radio and production I could do both. In May 2018, I graduated from Tennessee State University with my Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication with a concentration in Media Leadership and Performance.
From 2018 to 2021, I freelanced in both video production and journalism. I learned how to create opportunities for myself in every room I entered. In 2019, I was hired by my church as a Media Director and Producer, which allowed me to sharpen my leadership and creative skills even more.
Then in 2021, I returned to radio through a digital radio station, working as both a Promotions Director and Radio Personality. That chapter taught me so much not just about media, but about myself. It taught me the value of consistency, leadership, sacrifice, and what it truly means to build something from the ground up. I learned that success takes time, patience, and a willingness to keep showing up even when the results aren’t immediate and you get in what you put out n media.
At the same time, my work in production continued to grow. In 2025, I won a Telly Award for Best Live Production for the New York HBCU Basketball Game, which was a huge full-circle moment for me and proof that the hard work was paying off. Honestly, I am still in disbelief that I am a Telly Award Winner,
But in June 2025, my reality shifted fast. I was given a 12-hour notice that the radio station and the media world I had grown comfortable in was no longer the same. I had invested so much time, passion, and energy into helping build something I truly believed in. For a moment, it felt like everything changed overnight. I laughed for a week straight out of disbelief. Not because it was funny, but because life can really change that fast. Still, deep down, I knew God was preparing me for something bigger.
My love for entertainment and media was too strong for me to walk away from it or settle for something that didn’t fulfill me. And after years of helping build other people’s visions, I realized I no longer wanted to keep starting over for everyone else. I decided that whatever came next would finally be for me.
That decision led to the creation of Creatiff Vision Media a platform built to make sure voices are heard, stories are seen, and creativity is fully supported. Creatiff Vision Media was born during one of the hardest and most uncertain seasons of my life, but what started as setbacks and unanswered questions turned into purpose, ownership, and vision.
I created the platform because I wanted to fill the gap in how culture, creativity, and authentic stories are represented. Too often, the people shaping the culture are overlooked, misunderstood, or filtered through someone else’s perspective. I wanted to create a space where creatives and communities could control their own narrative.
Today, I’m still building, still learning, and still creating just on my own terms now. Creatiff Vision is more than a media platform to me; it’s a reflection of resilience, passion, and purpose.
This is only the beginning, and I truly believe there are even greater things ahead. I’m continuing to grow in the media space, doing what I love while building something meaningful for myself, my family, and the community I hope to inspire.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but every challenge has shaped me into the person and creative I am today. One of my biggest challenges was learning how to balance motherhood while still pursuing my dreams. Becoming a mom changed my entire perspective on life. There were moments where I had to put others before myself, figure things out as I went, and still find the strength and energy to chase a career in such a demanding industry.
I also experienced a lot of career changes and uncertainty throughout my journey. Media is an industry where things can shift fast, and I had to learn how to adapt quickly while staying true to myself. Along the way, I dealt with broken relationships within the industry, situations where loyalty, support, and genuine connections weren’t always what they seemed. Those experiences taught me valuable lessons about boundaries, discernment, and protecting my vision.
Another struggle people don’t really talk about is how difficult it can be when there’s no work available. This industry comes with a lot of rejection, uncertainty, and waiting. People often only see the highlights, but they don’t see the 99 “no’s” that can come before that one “yes.”
There were times I questioned myself, times I felt discouraged, and moments where I had to keep believing in my talent even when opportunities weren’t immediately showing up. But I learned that you have to keep going, keep creating, and keep moving forward no matter what.
On top of that, this journey has required real sacrifice blood, sweat, tears, and money. There were times I invested everything I had into my craft, into my education, and into opportunities that I believed in, even when the return wasn’t immediate. It hasn’t always been easy, but I’ve learned that anything meaningful requires sacrifice and consistency.
Also another one of my hardest moments came when the digital radio station I worked for let me go without notice. But looking back, that setback ended up pushing me toward something greater.
Instead of allowing those experiences to break me, I used them as motivation to build something of my own. Every obstacle taught me resilience, consistency, faith, and patience. It showed me that sometimes the hardest seasons in life are actually preparing you for the purpose you’re meant to walk in.
From one of the most unpredictable rollercoaster years in my media journey to seeing doors slowly begin to open again, I remained committed to staying in motion and trusting my path. During that time of transition, I was blessed with the opportunity to cover major cultural moments, including the BET Awards and the Stellar Awards.
I was also invited to Miami, Florida to cover Trina’s “She Is Everything: Mother & Mimosas” event an experience that felt both affirming and inspiring. Each of these opportunities reminded me why I started in the first place and reinforced my love for storytelling, entertainment, and being in spaces where culture is being created in real time.
Even in a season of uncertainty, those moments showed me that growth doesn’t always come in a straight line sometimes it shows up right in the middle of the chaos, reminding you that you’re still on the right path.

What were you like growing up?
Born in Nashville and raised on the East Side of Nashville, Growing up, I was a loving free spirit with a naturally warm, expressive personality that could light up any room she walked into. I had a playful sense of humor, always joking, laughing, and finding joy in the little things. Fun was never something I had to search for I created it wherever I went.
From an early age, I was drawn to capturing moments. I was always the one with a camera in my hand, documenting everything friends, family, random scenery, candid laughter, and everyday life that others might overlook. High School things shifted but thank God for growth and direction. (Lol)
