Meet Bernadette Mccann of TENNESSEE AMERICA PAGEANTS

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bernadette Mccann.

Hi Bernadette , we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I have been the Director of Tennessee America Pageants for four years now, which is part of the longest-running pageant system created for Mrs. to compete in. This year will be its 50th year.
It’s an honor to be part of this history in pageantry.
Our representatives, from all over the state of Tennessee, donate thousands of hours to their specific causes.
Our state cause is Victoria’s Voice, a program that promotes drug prevention usage across the state and country.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
A smooth road would be boring. We have gained momentum by creating a sisterhood of like-minded women who are combating many different issues. This is a journey to empower women to make a positive impact in their communities and within the state.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Most proud, I have gained groundswell through helping organize the efforts of many women across this state to seek their passions. We have been recognized on the Tennessee Legislative Floor for doing so.

We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
I’ve always been a tomboy, and getting to own a beauty pageant seems like a real stretch for me.
I’ve enjoyed the camaraderie, compassion, and friendships that have evolved over the past four years and look forward to continued success.
