Daily Inspiration: Meet Stelle Amor

Today we’d like to introduce you to Stelle Amor.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Hello, I’m Stelle Amor! I create smoky, soulful pop steeped in jazz club intimacy and timeless soul. Blending alternative, blues, and jazz into what I call “soulternative,” my sound carries the emotional grit of Amy Winehouse, the wild heart of Janis Joplin, and the cinematic mood of Lana Del Rey.
Born in Olathe, Kansas, and raised in Louisville, Kentucky, I started writing songs as a child and never really stopped. I grew up in choir rooms, children’s theatre, and school band before eventually picking up a guitar and deciding I wanted to be like Bob Dylan, to write songs that could move people and maybe even change the world.
My first break came on a snowy night playing a small bar off a Kentucky backroad, and before long I found myself pulled into the Nashville songwriting world. After years inside the song machine, I stepped away from the polished formulas of country music to reconnect with the parts of my artistry that felt most authentic.
Since then, I’ve released an EP, collaborated across genres from trip-pop to indie, and performed everywhere from intimate listening rooms to national television on FOX’s The Four. My music has also appeared in film and television, including ABC’s Grown-ish.
Still based in Nashville, my mission is to serenade the world by creating music that feels intimate, human, and a little spellbinding. My work is rooted in love, connection, and the belief that a great song can inspire unity.
When I’m not performing, you’ll likely find me in the garden, wandering in nature, daydreaming melodies, or creating at Electric Pony Sound Studios alongside my partner, Dr. Dave, and our rescue pit bull, Luci Lou, who occasionally joins sessions with a howl of her own.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
A smooth road would be such a boring life, I’m here for the rollercoaster! Like anyone who’s chosen a creative path, I’ve experienced my share of uncertainty and rejection but it has always led me to a better place. It’s safe to say humanity is living through both the best of times and the worst of times but if I believe in anything, it’s that we’ll get through it together. Every challenge has taught me something, and ultimately made me a better songwriter. Experience is the best inspiration whether it’s good or bad.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a sunflower in a peony patch. I’ve always been a bit of a weirdo, and I’ve never been afraid to dance to the beat of my own drum. My goal is to make music that resonates with the soul, with songs that carry meaningful messages that hit the whole spectrum of the human experience. From the lowest of lows like the existential crisis of death and the highest of highs like the passion of love. I’m so proud of our records coming out this year, we’ve been blessed to collaborate with some of Nashville’s greatest musicians like Fats Kaplin and Roy Agee to name a few.

How do you think about luck?
I’ve never paid much mind to luck. In life, there are seasons of abundance and seasons of challenge, but neither lasts forever. I’ve learned to trust the movement, stay true to my path, and keep creating regardless of where I find myself. In the end, perseverance matters far more than luck.
