Today we’d like to introduce you to Carmen Boone.
Hi Carmen, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I truly believe God orders our steps. I certainly did not plan on teaching, learn engraving, and heat foiling, networking, doing live events/activations, working with event planners and venues, opening up an ETSY shop and essentially starting a small business.
I simply wanted to learn a new craft I had on my mind since childhood. I loved art, letters, drawing and calligraphy intrigued me. It all escalated once I picked up that quill pen and did countless hours of practicing. God began opening doors for me and I just said Yes!
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I like to say there have been challenges but also find comfort in knowing God is leading me to where I am called to be. It won’t always be easy and the road will be bumpy at times but the peak makes it worth it! I have met people at each event/ class I have done and that has led to more connections, a larger community and a growing network,
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I specialize in handwritten Calligraphy and Engraving services for clients and luxury brands. I am focused on providing the best work for my clients so they can have products they will cherish for years to come and possibly pass on to loved ones. I am detail oriented and will take the extra steps to guarantee a product is completed beautifully.
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
I like to set business goals each year and write them down. I believe in personal growth and development and for me , accomplishing my personal goals is success! In this industry it is tough not to compare yourself to other artists, I mean there are so many talented people. I believe we should support other artists and be big fans of each other. Learning and sharing information with others empowers us and as a result we are successful. I am blessed to have met more artists this year and thankful to work alongside them!
