Today we’d like to introduce you to Savannah Haddock.
Hi Savannah, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I’ve always been drawn to creativity and connecting with people, but my path into the beauty industry wasn’t exactly a straight line. Before becoming a hairstylist, I worked in the service industry and spent a lot of time trying to figure out what I wanted my future to look like. Eventually, I took a leap and enrolled in cosmetology school, and it ended up completely changing my life.
Over the last several years, I’ve built my career specializing in extensions, custom color, blonding, and haircuts. What I love most is that it’s never really just about hair. It’s about helping people feel confident, creating genuine relationships, and giving someone a space where they can relax and feel like themselves.
One of the biggest turning points in my journey was moving from South Florida to Nashville. Leaving behind an established clientele and starting over in a new city was both exciting and terrifying. It pushed me to grow in ways I never expected and reminded me that building a business is really about building community.
Around the same time, I found myself wanting another creative outlet and picked up a camera. What started as a way to better capture my hair work quickly turned into a passion for photography and visual storytelling. As a hairstylist, I’ve always been fascinated by transformation, confidence, and the stories people carry with them, and photography became another way to explore that.
Today, I’m building both businesses side by side. Behind the chair, I help clients feel their best through hair, and through photography, I get to help creatives, brands, and small businesses tell their stories and show up confidently in their own work. While balancing two creative businesses has definitely come with challenges, it’s also allowed me to blend all the things I love most: creativity, connection, entrepreneurship, and storytelling.
Looking back, my journey has been filled with plenty of risks, pivots, and moments where I had no idea what I was doing. But each step has helped shape the life and career I’m building today. I’m still growing, still learning, and still chasing big dreams, but I’m grateful for every client, every opportunity, and every lesson that’s gotten me here.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Absolutely not. Looking back, every stage of my journey has come with its own challenges.
I grew up in a town where wealth was everywhere, but my family’s reality looked very different. Being surrounded by people who had opportunities and resources that I didn’t have taught me early on that if I wanted something, I was going to have to work for it. That mindset became one of the biggest driving forces in my life.
When I decided to pursue cosmetology, I went all in. While attending hair school full-time, I was bartending and juggling three jobs at once. Looking back, I’m thankful I was 22 because I honestly don’t know if I’d have the energy to do it now. It was a busy season, but it taught me discipline, resilience, and a strong work ethic that still drives me today.
One of the biggest challenges later on was moving from South Florida to Nashville and essentially starting my career over. I left behind an established clientele, years of relationships, and a network I’d worked hard to build. Starting fresh in a new city was exciting, but it was also humbling and pushed me far outside my comfort zone.
Around the same time, I started pursuing photography alongside my career as a hairstylist. What began as a way to better capture my hair work quickly turned into a second creative passion. Today, I work as a commission stylist at Hyde Salon in Nashville while building my photography and videography business during my free time, combining my love for beauty, creativity, and storytelling.
The common thread through all of it has been a bit of a hustler mentality. I’ve never been afraid to work hard, learn something new, or take a chance on myself. Whether it was working three jobs while in school, moving across the country, rebuilding a clientele, or starting a second business, I’ve learned that growth usually comes from being willing to bet on yourself before you have all the answers.
The road definitely hasn’t been smooth, but every challenge has taught me something valuable and helped shape the person and business owner I am today.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Today, I wear a few different creative hats. During the week, I work as a commission stylist at Hyde Salon in Nashville, where I specialize in extensions, custom color, blonding, and haircuts while working alongside an incredibly talented team of artists. Through my personal brand, Stylist Sav, I also offer bridal and event hairstyling, allowing me to be part of some of my clients’ most meaningful moments. I’m currently expanding my services into hair loss solutions, including toppers and scalp replica systems, to help clients regain confidence and feel like themselves again.
Outside of the salon, I’m building my photography and videography business, A Day for Creatives. What started as a way to document my hair work has grown into a separate creative business focused on helping artists, small businesses, and brands tell their stories through intentional imagery, video, and content creation.
While they live on separate platforms, both businesses are rooted in the same mission: helping people feel confident, seen, and empowered. Whether someone is sitting in my chair, getting ready for their wedding day, exploring hair loss solutions, or stepping in front of my camera, my goal is always to create an experience where they feel comfortable, cared for, and celebrated.
What I’m most proud of is building brands that feel authentic to who I am. Moving to Nashville meant starting over professionally, but it also gave me the opportunity to create a career that blends beauty, storytelling, creativity, and connection. As both Stylist Sav and A Day for Creatives continue to grow, I hope people know they’ll always find someone who genuinely cares about the people behind the service.
What’s next?
I’m excited for what’s ahead because I feel like I’m in a season of growth and building. When I first moved to Tennessee, I started my business independently in Mount Juliet and spent a lot of time learning how to navigate a new city, build a clientele from scratch, and wear every hat as a business owner. Recently, I made the transition into a commission position at Hyde Salon in Nashville, which has allowed me to focus more on my craft behind the chair while also collaborating with an incredible team of artists. It’s been a rewarding shift and one that’s helping me continue growing both personally and professionally.
Alongside my salon career, I’m continuing to grow my bridal and event styling business, expand into hair loss solutions such as toppers and scalp replica systems, and build my photography and videography brand, A Day for Creatives. What excites me most is having the opportunity to combine creativity, connection, and storytelling across multiple industries.
Long-term, I’d love to create a space that brings together beauty, photography, education, and community. While I’m focused on taking things one step at a time, I’m excited to keep learning, growing, and seeing where each of these creative paths leads. More than anything, I’m grateful for the people I’ve met along the way and the opportunity to build a career that feels authentic to who I am.
